This new edition of Decision Making with the Analytic Network Process is a selection of the latest applications of ANP to economic, social and political decisions, and also to technological design. The ANP is a methodological tool that is helpful to organize knowledge and thinking, elicit judgments registered in both in memory and in feelings, quantify the judgments and derive priorities from them, and finally synthesize these diverse priorities into a single mathematically and logically justifiable overall outcome. In the process of deriving this outcome, the ANP also allows for the representation and synthesis of diverse opinions in the midst of discussion and debate. The book focuses on the application of the ANP in three different areas: economics, the social sciences and the linking of measurement with human values. Economists can use the ANP for an alternate approach for dealing with economic problems than the usual mathematical models on which economics bases its quantitative thinking. For psychologists, sociologists and political scientists, the ANP offers the methodology they have sought for some time to quantify and derive measurements for intangibles.  Finally the book applies the ANP to provide people in the physical and engineering sciences with a quantitative method to link hard measurement to human values.  In such a process, one is able to interpret the true meaning of measurements made on a uniform scale using a unit. 410 0$aInternational series in operations research & management science ;$vv. 195. 606 $aDecision making$xMathematical models 606 $aProblem solving 615 0$aDecision making$xMathematical models. 615 0$aProblem solving. 676 $a302.3 700 $aSaaty$b Thomas L$014108 701 $aVargas$b Luis G$01750195 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910438257203321 996 $aDecision making with the analytic network process$94184767 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02846nam 22006374a 450 001 9910967252803321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a6612601000 010 $a1-282-60100-8 010 $a9786612601002 010 $a1-60750-524-X 035 $a(CKB)2670000000014165 035 $a(EBL)501448 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000360403 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11253386 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000360403 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10318902 035 $a(PQKB)10879704 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL501448 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10375724 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL260100 035 $a(OCoLC)591163310 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC501448 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000014165 100 $a20100312d2009 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 04$aThe future envelope 2 $earchitecture, climate, skin /$fedited by Ulrich Knaack & Tillmann Klein 205 $a1st ed. 210 $aAmsterdam $cIOS Press$dc2009 215 $a1 online resource (152 p.) 225 1 $aResearch in architectural engineering series,$x1873-6033 ;$vv. 9 300 $aBased on the contributions to The Future Envelope symposium held June 5, 2008 in Delft. 311 08$a1-60750-026-4 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references. 327 $aTitle page; Contents; Market Movements and New Fac?ade Concepts; The Fac?ade Sector; Corrugated Glass as Improvement to the Structural Resistance of Glass; Climate integrated Design (Climate iD) of Building Skins; 'The Living Fac?ade'®; CROFT - Climate Related Optimized Fac?ade Technologies; Research into Complex Fac?ade Geometries as a Response to Climate in the Work of Newtecnic Architects; Developement in the Technology of Fac?ades; Product Development; Requirements for CO2 Neutral Buildings and Cities from MicroClimate to the Fac?ade; Architecture-Climate-Skin - A Summary 330 $aThe role of the building envelope - related to the energy performance of a building and the comfort of the user - is significant.
