Understanding ice surface radiation processing, particle and radiation penetration depths, surface and subsurface chemistry, morphology, phases, density, conductivity, etc., are only a few examples of the inventory of issues that are being addressed by Earth-based laboratory research. As a response to the growing need for cross-disciplinary dialog and communication in the planetary ices science community, this book aims to foster focused collaborations among the observational, modeling, and laboratory research communities. The book is a compilation of articles from experts in ices: experimentalists, modelers, and observers (ground-based telescopes and space missions). Most of the contributors featured in this book are renowned experts in their respective fields. Many of these scientists have also participated in the book entitled Solar Systems Ices (Kluwer Academic Publishers, 1998) in the Astrophysics and Space Science Library Series. 410 0$aAstrophysics and Space Science Library,$x0067-0057 ;$v356 606 $aSpace sciences 606 $aMaterials science 606 $aSolid state physics 606 $aSpectroscopy 606 $aMicroscopy 606 $aSpace Sciences (including Extraterrestrial Physics, Space Exploration and Astronautics)$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P22030 606 $aCharacterization and Evaluation of Materials$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Z17000 606 $aSolid State Physics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P25013 606 $aSpectroscopy and Microscopy$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P31090 607 $aSolar system 615 0$aSpace sciences. 615 0$aMaterials science. 615 0$aSolid state physics. 615 0$aSpectroscopy. 615 0$aMicroscopy. 615 14$aSpace Sciences (including Extraterrestrial Physics, Space Exploration and Astronautics). 615 24$aCharacterization and Evaluation of Materials. 615 24$aSolid State Physics. 615 24$aSpectroscopy and Microscopy. 676 $a551.31 676 $a551.31/09992 676 $a551.3109992 702 $aGudipati$b Murthy S$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aCastillo-Rogez$b Julie$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910438107003321 996 $aThe Science of Solar System Ices$92202178 997 $aUNINA
