The purpose of this book, first published in 1996, is to bring attention to and examine the articulation of lesbian themes, motifs and issues in the works of these writers. It aims to study the problems pertaining to the specific literary representations of lesbianism and to examine the dimensions of a lesbian view in the works. By undertaking the study of the works of these women writers, this book contributes to the recognition and legitimization of a lesbian literary discourse."--Provided by publisher 606 $aSpanish American literature$xWomen authors$xHistory and criticism 606 $aLesbians' writings, Spanish American$xHistory and criticism 606 $aSpanish American literature$y20th century$xHistory and criticism 606 $aHomosexuality and literature$zLatin America$xHistory$y20th century 606 $aWomen and literature$zLatin America$xHistory$y20th century 615 0$aSpanish American literature$xWomen authors$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aLesbians' writings, Spanish American$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aSpanish American literature$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aHomosexuality and literature$xHistory 615 0$aWomen and literature$xHistory 676 $a860.99287 700 $aMarti?nez$b Elena M.$f1956-$01496268 801 0$bOCoLC-P 801 1$bOCoLC-P 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910794723703321 996 $aLesbian voices from Latin America$93720835 997 $aUNINA LEADER 05205nam 22007335 450 001 9910438029803321 005 20200705021100.0 010 $a3-642-39363-2 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-642-39363-1 035 $a(CKB)3710000000002630 035 $a(EBL)1398306 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000963163 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11536994 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000963163 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10975787 035 $a(PQKB)11558393 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-642-39363-1 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6312527 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1398306 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL1398306 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10983284 035 $a(OCoLC)854557983 035 $a(PPN)172428165 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000002630 100 $a20130716d2013 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aStochastic Simulation and Monte Carlo Methods $eMathematical Foundations of Stochastic Simulation /$fby Carl Graham, Denis Talay 205 $a1st ed. 2013. 210 1$aBerlin, Heidelberg :$cSpringer Berlin Heidelberg :$cImprint: Springer,$d2013. 215 $a1 online resource (264 p.) 225 1 $aStochastic Modelling and Applied Probability,$x0172-4568 ;$v68 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a3-642-43840-7 311 $a3-642-39362-4 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aPart I:Principles of Monte Carlo Methods -- 1.Introduction -- 2.Strong Law of Large Numbers and Monte Carlo Methods -- 3.Non Asymptotic Error Estimates for Monte Carlo Methods -- Part II:Exact and Approximate Simulation of Markov Processes -- 4.Poisson Processes -- 5.Discrete-Space Markov Processes -- 6.Continuous-Space Markov Processes with Jumps -- 7.Discretization of Stochastic Differential Equations -- Part III:Variance Reduction, Girsanov?s Theorem, and Stochastic Algorithms -- 8.Variance Reduction and Stochastic Differential Equations -- 9.Stochastic Algorithms -- References -- Index. 330 $aIn various scientific and industrial fields, stochastic simulations are taking on a new importance. This is due to the increasing power of computers and practitioners? aim to simulate more and more complex systems, and thus use random parameters as well as random noises to model the parametric uncertainties and the lack of knowledge on the physics of these systems. The error analysis of these computations is a highly complex mathematical undertaking. Approaching these issues, the authors present stochastic numerical methods and prove accurate convergence rate estimates in terms of their numerical parameters (number of simulations, time discretization steps). As a result, the book is a self-contained and rigorous study of the numerical methods within a theoretical framework. After briefly reviewing the basics, the authors first introduce fundamental notions in stochastic calculus and continuous-time martingale theory, then develop the analysis of pure-jump Markov processes, Poisson processes, and stochastic differential equations. In particular, they review the essential properties of Itô integrals and prove fundamental results on the probabilistic analysis of parabolic partial differential equations. These results in turn provide the basis for developing stochastic numerical methods, both from an algorithmic and theoretical point of view.  The book combines advanced mathematical tools, theoretical analysis of stochastic numerical methods, and practical issues at a high level, so as to provide optimal results on the accuracy of Monte Carlo simulations of stochastic processes. It is intended for master and Ph.D. students in the field of stochastic processes and their numerical applications, as well as for physicists, biologists, economists and other professionals working with stochastic simulations, who will benefit from the ability to reliably estimate and control the accuracy of their simulations.  . 410 0$aStochastic Modelling and Applied Probability,$x0172-4568 ;$v68 606 $aProbabilities 606 $aNumerical analysis 606 $aEconomics, Mathematical 606 $aProbability Theory and Stochastic Processes$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M27004 606 $aNumerical Analysis$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M14050 606 $aQuantitative Finance$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M13062 615 0$aProbabilities. 615 0$aNumerical analysis. 615 0$aEconomics, Mathematical. 615 14$aProbability Theory and Stochastic Processes. 615 24$aNumerical Analysis. 615 24$aQuantitative Finance. 676 $a519.2 700 $aGraham$b Carl$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0478930 702 $aTalay$b Denis$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910438029803321 996 $aStochastic Simulation and Monte Carlo Methods$92508211 997 $aUNINA
