He contributed to a variety of fields in ICT: applied econometrics, forecasting, internet governance and policy. This series of essays, two of which were co-authored by Professor Madden prior to his untimely death, cover the range of his research interests. While the essays focus on a number of ICT issues, they are on the frontier of research in the sector. Gerard Faulhaber provides a broad overview of how we have reached the digital age and its implications. The applied econometric section brings the latest research in the area, for example Lester Taylor illustrates how own-price, cross-price and income elasticities can be calculated from survey data and translated into real income effects. The forecasting section ranges from forecasting online political participation to broadband?s impact on economic growth. The final section covers aspects of governance and regulation of the ICT sector. James Alleman is Professor Emeritus at the University of Colorado ? Boulder and a Senior Fellow at Columbia Institute of Tele-Information (CITI), Columbia Business School, Columbia University, USA. Paul N. Rappoport is Professor Emeritus at the Temple University, Fox School of Business, USA. Dr. Rappoport earned his PhD in Economics from Ohio State University. Mohsen Hamoudia is Head of Strategy and Market Intelligence of Large Accounts Division within Orange Business Services, France. . 606 $aEconomic policy 606 $aEconometrics 606 $aMicroeconomics 606 $aMass media?Political aspects 606 $aStatistics 606 $aR & D/Technology Policy$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W43000 606 $aEconometrics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W29010 606 $aMicroeconomics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W31000 606 $aMedia Policy$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/412070 606 $aStatistics for Business, Management, Economics, Finance, Insurance$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/S17010 615 0$aEconomic policy. 615 0$aEconometrics. 615 0$aMicroeconomics. 615 0$aMass media?Political aspects. 615 0$aStatistics. 615 14$aR & D/Technology Policy. 615 24$aEconometrics. 615 24$aMicroeconomics. 615 24$aMedia Policy. 615 24$aStatistics for Business, Management, Economics, Finance, Insurance. 676 $a330.071 676 $a338.926 702 $aAlleman$b James$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aRappoport$b Paul N$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aHamoudia$b Mohsen$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910409670103321 996 $aApplied Economics in the Digital Era$92085029 997 $aUNINA
