Conclusions. . 330 $aThis open access short reader discusses the emerging patterns of sedentary migration versus mobility of the highly-skilled thereby providing a comprehensive overview of the recent literature on highly-skilled migration. Highly-skilled migrations are arguably the only non-controversial migrant category in political and public discourse. The common perception is that highly-skilled migrants are high-earners with top educational skills and that they are easy to integrate. These perceptions make them a ?wanted? migrant. There seems to be however a big divide between the popular perceptions of this migration and its realities uncovered in social research. This publication closes this divide by delving deeper in the variety of experiences, discourses and realities of highly skilled migrants, thereby uncovering the inherent divides between the highly skilled migrants from the North and the South. The reader shows that these divides are constructed realities, shaped by the state policies and underpinned by social imaginary. Written in an accessible language this reader is a perfect read for academics, students and policy makers and all those unfamiliar with the topic. 410 0$aIMISCOE Research Series,$x2364-4087 606 $aSocial sciences 606 $aPopulation 606 $aPolitical science 606 $aHuman geography 606 $aSocial Sciences, general$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X00000 606 $aPopulation Economics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W38000 606 $aPolitical Science$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/911000 606 $aHuman Geography$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X26000 610 $aSocial Sciences, general 610 $aPopulation Economics 610 $aPolitical Science 610 $aHuman Geography 610 $aSociology of Migration 610 $aOpen access 610 $aExpatriates 610 $aLifestyle migrants 610 $aCosmopolitans 610 $aEurostars 610 $aElite migrants 610 $aKnowledge migrants 610 $aLow-skilled migrants 610 $aInternational student migration 610 $aMigration and integration 610 $aMigration and labour market 610 $aSettlement and mobility 610 $aTransatlantic migrations 610 $aBrain flows 610 $aHighly skilled migration 610 $aLabour market integration 610 $aFreedom of movement 610 $aTalent mobility 610 $aSociety & Social Sciences 610 $aSociology 610 $aPolitical economy 610 $aPopulation & demography 610 $aPolitical science & theory 610 $aHuman geography 615 0$aSocial sciences. 615 0$aPopulation. 615 0$aPolitical science. 615 0$aHuman geography. 615 14$aSocial Sciences, general. 615 24$aPopulation Economics. 615 24$aPolitical Science. 615 24$aHuman Geography. 676 $a300 676 $a304.8 700 $aWeinar$b Agnieszka$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0923829 702 $aKlekowski von Koppenfels$b Amanda$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910404113703321 996 $aHighly-Skilled Migration: Between Settlement and Mobility$92073237 997 $aUNINA
