Water has previously been dubbed the forgotten nutrient due to humans' and animals' ability to subsist seemingly unchanged across a wide range of daily water intakes. However, with the introduction of stressors such as exercise, diseased states, and/or chronic high or low water intake, the homeostatic signals related to body water regulation can influence organ and whole-body health. This Special Issue will discuss water intake, the scientific rationale surrounding the U.S. and European water intake guidelines, homeostatic mechanisms, diseases related to dysfunction of water regulation, and differences in the volume and the vehicle in which the water is contained (i.e., plain water versus mixed beverages) on water intake during and following exercise. The aim is to continue discussion surrounding water, the previously forgotten nutrient, and highlight the importance of water in daily life. 606 $aBiology, life sciences$2bicssc 610 $aacute kidney injury 610 $aadaptation 610 $aaging 610 $aassessment 610 $abig data 610 $ablood pressure regulation 610 $abody composition 610 $abody water 610 $achildren 610 $achronic disease 610 $achronic kidney disease 610 $aclimate change 610 $adatabase 610 $adehydration 610 $adeuterium 610 $aDNA 610 $adrinking water 610 $aelectrolytes 610 $aenvironmental stressors 610 $aeuhydration 610 $aexercise 610 $afluid replacement 610 $aheat stress 610 $ahydration 610 $ahydration factor and Hispanic Americans 610 $ahypohydration 610 $ahyponatremia 610 $amodeling 610 $an/a 610 $aNHANES 610 $aobesity 610 $aoral rehydration therapy 610 $aperception 610 $apollution 610 $apolydipsia 610 $arehydration 610 $askin blood flow 610 $asweating 610 $asympathetic nervous system 610 $athermoregulation 610 $aultraviolet radiation 610 $avascular function 610 $awater 610 $awater intake 610 $awater restriction 610 $awater-electrolyte balance 615 7$aBiology, life sciences 700 $aAdams$b William M$4auth$0246034 702 $aJohnson$b Evan C$4auth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910404088503321 996 $aWater Intake, Body Water Regulation and Health$93037673 997 $aUNINA
