It features double-stained cross- and longitudinal sections of almost 400 species of vascular plants from the lowland to the alpine zone in Central Europe, including plants from lakes, ponds, rivers, bogs, fens, wet meadows, saline meadows, tall herb associations and alpine snow beds. The microscopic photographs at various magnifications are supplemented with detailed anatomical descriptions. For each species it provides a photo of the whole plant, a short morphological and ecological description as well as indications about its world- and Central European distribution. The book includes a hydrobotanical and an anatomical section. The hydrobotanical section describes the ecological classification of aquatic and wetland plants and explains major ecophysiological processes e.g., photosynthesis, mineral nutrition, gas exchange, adaptations to soil anoxia, turion formation and ecology. The anatomical section highlights the variety of structures and anatomical features of vascular plants in all wet environments. 606 $aPlant anatomy 606 $aPlant development 606 $aPlant systematics 606 $aPlant taxonomy 606 $aPlant ecology 606 $aBiodiversity 606 $aPlant Anatomy/Development$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L24019 606 $aPlant Systematics/Taxonomy/Biogeography$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L24051 606 $aPlant Ecology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L19112 606 $aBiodiversity$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L19031 615 0$aPlant anatomy. 615 0$aPlant development. 615 0$aPlant systematics. 615 0$aPlant taxonomy. 615 0$aPlant ecology. 615 0$aBiodiversity. 615 14$aPlant Anatomy/Development. 615 24$aPlant Systematics/Taxonomy/Biogeography. 615 24$aPlant Ecology. 615 24$aBiodiversity. 676 $a581.4 700 $aSchweingruber$b Fritz H$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$079464 702 $aKu?erová$b Andrea$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aAdamec$b Lubomír$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aDole?al$b Ji?í$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910380754003321 996 $aAnatomic Atlas of Aquatic and Wetland Plant Stems$92499792 997 $aUNINA
