Without excluding the phenomenon of terrorists, it maps the whole field of Muslim visibility. The nine contributions present unpublished ethnographic materials that have been collected between 2003 and 2005. They track down the available space that is open to Muslims in EU member states claiming a visibility of their own. The volume collects male and female, secular and religious, radical and pietistic voices of sometimes very young people. They all speak about »being a Muslim in Europe« and the meaning of »real Islam«. 410 0$aGlobaler Lokaler Islam 606 $aIslam and politics$zEurope 606 $aMuslims$xCultural assimilation$zEurope 606 $aMuslims$xPolitical activity$zEurope 606 $aMuslims$xSocialization$zEurope 610 $aMuslims 610 $aEurope 610 $aPublic Space 610 $aIslam 610 $aPolitics 610 $aIslamic Studies 615 0$aIslam and politics 615 0$aMuslims$xCultural assimilation 615 0$aMuslims$xPolitical activity 615 0$aMuslims$xSocialization 676 $a305.6/97094 686 $aMS 6575$2rvk 700 $aJonker$b Gerdien$4edt$0643164 702 $aJonker$b Gerdien 702 $aAmiraux$b Vale?rie 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910372802903321 996 $aPolitics of visibility$93583804 997 $aUNINA
