It starts with an understanding of divorce trends. Why was divorce increasing so rapidly throughout the US and Europe and do we see signs of a turn? Do cohabitation breakups influence divorce trends or is there a renewed stability on the partner market? In terms of divorce risks, the book contains new insights on Eastern European countries. These post socialist countries have evolved dramatically since the fall of the Wall and at present they show the highest divorce figures in Europe. Also the influence of gender, and more specifically women?s education as a risk in divorce is examined cross nationally. The book also provides explanations for the negative gradient in female education effects on divorce. It devotes three separate parts to new insights in the post-divorce effects of the life course event by among others looking at consequences for adults and children but also taking the larger family network into account. As such the book is of interest to demographers, sociologists, psychologists, family therapists, NGOs, and politicians. 410 0$aEuropean Studies of Population,$x1381-3579 ;$v21 606 $aDemography 606 $aPsychology 606 $aPopulation 606 $aSociology 606 $aDemography$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X25000 606 $aGeneral Psychology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Y20110 606 $aPopulation Economics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W38000 606 $aSociology, general$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X22000 610 $aSocial sciences 610 $aDemography 610 $aPsychology 610 $aPopulation 610 $aSociology 615 0$aDemography. 615 0$aPsychology. 615 0$aPopulation. 615 0$aSociology. 615 14$aDemography. 615 24$aGeneral Psychology. 615 24$aPopulation Economics. 615 24$aSociology, general. 676 $a304.6 700 $aMortelmans$b Dimitri$4auth$01238979 702 $aMortelmans$b Dimitri$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910372787703321 996 $aDivorce in Europe$93397146 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01847oam 2200469M 450 001 9910715998803321 005 20191123062436.7 035 $a(CKB)5470000002516102 035 $a(OCoLC)1062815665 035 $a(OCoLC)995470000002516102 035 $a(EXLCZ)995470000002516102 100 $a20070221d1864 ua 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcn||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aMails in Iowa.
