While scholars have long examined the texts and images on rolls, they have rarely taken the manuscripts themselves into account. This volume readdresses this imbalance by focusing on the materiality and various usages of rolls in late medieval England and France. Researchers from England, France, Germany and Singapore demonstrate in 11 contributions how this approach can increase our understanding of the rolls and their contents, as well as the contexts in which they were produced and used. 410 0$aMateriale Textkulturen 606 $aClassical texts$2bicssc 606 $aClassical history / classical civilisation$2bicssc 607 $aEngland$2fast 607 $aFrance$2fast 608 $aConference papers and proceedings.$2lcgft 608 $aConference papers and proceedings.$2fast 610 $aEngland. 610 $aFrance. 610 $aRolls. 610 $alate Middle Ages. 615 7$aClassical texts 615 7$aClassical history / classical civilisation 676 $a002.09 700 $aHoltz$b Stefan G$4edt$01371824 702 $aHolz$b Stefan G.$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aPeltzer$b Jörg$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aShirota$b Maree$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 712 02$aDeutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft$4fnd$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/fnd 801 0$bDE-B1597 801 1$bDE-B1597 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910372746003321 996 $aThe Roll in England and France in the Late Middle Ages$93401473 997 $aUNINA
