In this price system, consumers are presented with several unit prices, which makes a naive analysis biased. However, the response to the price schedule is often of interest in economics and plays an important role in policymaking. To address this issue, the book adopts a structural approach, referred to as the discrete/continuous choice approach in the literature, to develop corresponding statistical models for analysis.The resulting models are extensions of the Tobit model, a well-known statistical model in econometrics, and their hierarchical structure fits well in Bayesian methodology. Thus, the book takes the Bayesian approach and develops the Markov chain Monte Carlo method to conduct statistical inferences. The methodology derived is then applied to real-world datasets, microdata collected in Tokyo and the neighboring Chiba Prefecture, as a useful empirical analysis for prediction as well as policymaking. 410 0$aJSS Research Series in Statistics,$x2364-0065 606 $aStatistics 606 $aStatistics 606 $aFinancial engineering 606 $aEconomic development 606 $aStatistics in Business, Management, Economics, Finance, Insurance 606 $aStatistical Theory and Methods 606 $aBayesian Inference 606 $aFinancial Engineering 606 $aEconomic Development, Innovation and Growth 615 0$aStatistics. 615 0$aStatistics. 615 0$aFinancial engineering. 615 0$aEconomic development. 615 14$aStatistics in Business, Management, Economics, Finance, Insurance. 615 24$aStatistical Theory and Methods. 615 24$aBayesian Inference. 615 24$aFinancial Engineering. 615 24$aEconomic Development, Innovation and Growth. 676 $a519.542 700 $aMiyawaki$b Koji$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0781843 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910364956303321 996 $aBayesian Analysis of Demand Under Block Rate Pricing$91733846 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03143nam 2200673Ia 450 001 9910219962703321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a9786612451102 010 $a9781282451100 010 $a1282451103 010 $a9780833048363 010 $a0833048368 010 $a9781598753196 010 $a1598753193 035 $a(CKB)1000000000345868 035 $a(EBL)228932 035 $a(OCoLC)558991481 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000337478 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11276860 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000337478 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10287903 035 $a(PQKB)10859246 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC228932 035 $a(oapen)doab114833 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000345868 100 $a20030724d2003 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 13$aAn executive perspective on workforce planning /$fRobert M.
