The size of the microRNome and complexity of animal body plans and organ systems suggests a role for microRNAs in cell fate determination and differentiation. More than 2000 sequences have been proposed to represent unique microRNA genes in humans, with an increasing number of mechanistic roles identified in developmental, physiological, and pathological processes. Thus, dysregulation of a few key microRNAs can have a profound global effect on the gene expression and molecular programs of a cell. This great potential for clinical intervention has captured the interest and imagination of researchers in many fields. However, very few fields have been as prolific as the field of cancer research. This Special Issue provides but a glimpse of the large body of literature of microRNA biology in cancer research, containing 4 original research studies and 4 review articles that focus on specific hematologic or solid tumors in disease. Collectively, these articles highlight state-of-the-art approaches and methodologies for microRNA detection in tissue, blood, and other body fluids in a range of biomarkers applications, from early cancer detection to prognosis and treatment response. The articles also address some of the challenges regarding clinical implementation. 606 $aMicroRNAs 610 $aleukemia 610 $acell lines 610 $ahepatitis B virus 610 $along non coding RNA 610 $anormalization of miRNA expression in RT-qPCR 610 $achildren 610 $acolorectal 610 $areview 610 $abevacizumab 610 $atumor budding cells 610 $aoral cancer 610 $aliquid biopsy 610 $ahepatocellular carcinoma 610 $asmall t-antigen 610 $acolorectal cancer 610 $aprotein-miRNA complex 610 $abiomarkers 610 $abiomarker 610 $ainterleukin-1? 610 $atissue analysis 610 $amiRNAs 610 $aT-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) 610 $aleukoplakia 610 $ainflammation 610 $aexosomes 610 $acirculating free DNA 610 $ahepatitis C virus 610 $amiRNA 610 $amiR-21 610 $aextracellular microRNA 610 $aendogenous controls 610 $alymphoma 610 $aconfocal slide scanning microscopy 610 $aearly diagnosis 610 $areference genes 610 $alarge T-antigen 610 $amicroRNA 610 $amiRNA (microRNA) 610 $acancer 610 $aTNF-? 610 $aplasma 615 2$aMicroRNAs. 700 $aSempere$b Lorenzo F$01292426 801 0$bScCtBLL 801 1$bScCtBLL 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910346847003321 996 $aMicroRNA as Biomarkers in Cancer Diagnostics and Therapy$93022293 997 $aUNINA
