As a creative industry, Japanese Media-Mixes generate multimillion-dollar revenues, being a product of international synergies and the natural appeal of the characters and stories. The transnationalization of investment capital, diversification of themes and (sub)genres, underlying threat in the proliferation of illegal audiences, development of internet streaming technologies, and other new transformations in media-mix-based production models make the study of these products even more relevant today. In this way, manga (Japanese comics), anime (Japanese animation), and video games are not necessarily products designed for the national market. More than ever, it is necessary to reconcile national and transnational positions for the study of this cultural production. The present volume includes contributions aligned to the analysis of Japanese popular culture flow from many perspectives (cultural studies, film, comic studies, sociology, etc.), although we have emphasized the relationships between manga, anime, and international audiences. The selected works include the following topics:? Studies on audiences-national and transnational case studies;? Fandom production and Otaku culture;? Cross-media and transmedia perspectives;? Theoretical perspectives on manga, anime, and media-mixes. 606 $aThe Arts$2bicssc 610 $atransnational 610 $aanimesque 610 $aco-productions 610 $alive performance 610 $atechnological specificity 610 $ascholarship 610 $amanga 610 $atransnational animation production 610 $aPrince of Tennis 610 $aexport 610 $avoice actors 610 $atrans-acculturation 610 $a2.5-Dimensional musicals 610 $aJapan 610 $aEurope 610 $atransduction 610 $aNiconico 610 $acreative industries 610 $amanga and anime 610 $aJapanese cultural studies 610 $aglobal popular 610 $aTV studies 610 $aJapanese animation market 610 $ayouth cultures 610 $aOEL manga 610 $abande dessinée 610 $acomics 610 $aaudience participation 610 $amedia 610 $aglobal manga 610 $acharacters 610 $aSakura Wars 610 $amedia-form 610 $adispersed agency 610 $aidentity 610 $amedia mix 610 $aeditorial 610 $akawaii 610 $atransnationality 610 $amateriality 610 $amedia-mix 610 $aperformance 610 $aJapanese studies 610 $aKadokawa Dwango 610 $afan culture 610 $aanime 615 7$aThe Arts 700 $aHernández-Pérez$b Manuel$01305935 801 0$bScCtBLL 801 1$bScCtBLL 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910346674303321 996 $aJapanese Media Cultures in Japan and Abroad$94320779 997 $aUNINA
