Earthquakes in Haiti and Sumatra underscored the serious economic consequences that catastrophic events can have on developing countries, while 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina showed that first world nations remain vulnerable.The Social Roots of Risk argues against the widespread notion that cataclysmic occurrences are singular events, driven by forces beyond our control. Instead, Kathleen Tierney contends that disasters of all types-be they natural, technological, or economic-are rooted in common social and inst 410 0$aHigh Reliability and Crisis Management 606 $aDisasters -- Social aspects 606 $aEmergency management -- Social aspects 606 $aRisk -- Social aspects 606 $aRisk management -- Social aspects 608 $aElectronic books. 615 4$aDisasters -- Social aspects. 615 4$aEmergency management -- Social aspects. 615 4$aRisk -- Social aspects. 615 4$aRisk management -- Social aspects. 676 $a302/.12 700 $aTierney$b Kathleen$01038596 801 0$bAU-PeEL 801 1$bAU-PeEL 801 2$bAU-PeEL 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910464312403321 996 $aSocial Roots of Risk$92492625 997 $aUNINA LEADER 05712nam 22006855 450 001 996503470503316 005 20230127183558.0 010 $a3-031-19745-3 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-031-19745-1 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC7156599 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL7156599 035 $a(CKB)25657400500041 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-031-19745-1 035 $a(PPN)267813066 035 $a(EXLCZ)9925657400500041 100 $a20221209d2022 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aIntertwining Graphonomics with Human Movements$b[electronic resource] $e20th International Conference of the International Graphonomics Society, IGS 2021, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, June 7-9, 2022, Proceedings /$fedited by Cristina Carmona-Duarte, Moises Diaz, Miguel A. Originally planned to be celebrated in September 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was held in June 2022. The 36 full and 3 short papers presented at the conference were carefully reviewed and selected from 41 submissions and reviewed by a committee of 67 reviewers. Out of the 41 conferences, 26 papers were selected to be published in this proceedings. The program was comprised of 6 oral sessions on the following topics: historical documents, forensic handwriting examinations, handwriting learning and development, and motor control. One additional poster session included papers on all previous topics, and three special sessions included papers on neurodegenerative disorders. 410 0$aLecture Notes in Computer Science,$x1611-3349 ;$v13424 606 $aDatabase management 606 $aComputer engineering 606 $aComputer networks 606 $aImage processing?Digital techniques 606 $aComputer vision 606 $aArtificial intelligence 606 $aDatabase Management 606 $aComputer Engineering and Networks 606 $aComputer Imaging, Vision, Pattern Recognition and Graphics 606 $aArtificial Intelligence 615 0$aDatabase management. 615 0$aComputer engineering. 615 0$aComputer networks. 615 0$aImage processing?Digital techniques. 615 0$aComputer vision. 615 0$aArtificial intelligence. 615 14$aDatabase Management. 615 24$aComputer Engineering and Networks. 615 24$aComputer Imaging, Vision, Pattern Recognition and Graphics. 615 24$aArtificial Intelligence. 676 $a943.005 702 $aCarmona-Duarte$b Cristina 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996503470503316 996 $aIntertwining graphonomics with human movements$93088626 997 $aUNISA LEADER 01244nam0 22002771i 450 001 UON00044439 005 20231205102200.67 100 $a20020107d1953 |0itac50 ba 101 $ager 102 $aAT 105 $a|||| 1|||| 200 1 $aUntersuchugen zur laut- undformanlehre des hebraischen$fViktor Christian 210 $aWien$cOsterreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften$d1953 215 $a196 p.$d25 cm 410 1$1001UON00000465$12001 $aÖsterreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften. Although the various chapters address the history of different types of scripts (i.e. biblical majuscule, sloping poitend majuscule, liturgical majuscule, epigraphic and monumental scripts), their juxtaposition allows us to identify common issues of the comparative method of palaeography. From an overall critical assessment of these aspects the impossibility of applying a unique historical paradigm to interpret the formal expressions and the history of the different bookhands comes up, due to the fact that each script follows different paths. Particular attention is also devoted to the use of Greek majuscules in the writing of ancient Christian books. A modern and critical awareness of palaeographic method may help to place the individual witnesses in the context of the main graphic trends, in the social and cultural environments in which they developed, and in a more accurate chronological framework.?? 410 0$aStudies in Manuscript Cultures 606 $aMajuscule scripts 606 $adating of manuscripts 606 $apalaeography 606 $aHandschrift$3(DE-601)10457187X$3(DE-588)4023287-6$2gnd 606 $aMajuskel$3(DE-601)104773928$3(DE-588)4168659-7$2gnd 606 $aGriechische Schrift$3(DE-601)105494992$3(DE-588)4158186-6$2gnd 606 $aKoptisch$3(DE-601)105777986$3(DE-588)4120227-2$2gnd 606 $aGriechisch$3(DE-601)105826847$3(DE-588)4113791-7$2gnd 606 $aPapyrus$3(DE-601)106204971$3(DE-588)4044571-9$2gnd 606 $aKoptische Schrift$3(DE-601)684912740$3(DE-588)7854950-4$2gnd 606 $aLITERARY CRITICISM / General$2bisacsh 610 $aMajuscule scripts. 610 $adating of manuscripts. 610 $apalaeography. 615 4$aMajuscule scripts. 615 4$adating of manuscripts. 615 4$apalaeography. 615 7$aHandschrift. 615 7$aMajuskel. 615 7$aGriechische Schrift. 615 7$aKoptisch. 615 7$aGriechisch. 615 7$aPapyrus. 615 7$aKoptische Schrift. 615 7$aLITERARY CRITICISM / General. 676 $a800 700 $aOrsini$b Pasquale , $0300866 801 0$bDE-B1597 801 1$bDE-B1597 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910345991103321 996 $aStudies on Greek and Coptic Majuscule Scripts and Books$91939002 997 $aUNINA
