This volume attempts to unite these three research strands by placing at the centre of the enquiry the role played by social factors in the occurrence, forms, and outcomes of code-switching. The contributions in this volume are divided into three parts: "code-switching between cognition and socio-pragmatics", "multilingual interaction and identity", and "code-switching and social structure". The case studies represent contact settings on five continents and feature languages with diverse linguistic affiliations. They are predictive and descriptive in their research goals and rely on experimental or naturalistic data. But they share the common goal of seeking to explain how social structures, ideologies, and identity impact on the grammatical and conversational features of code-switching and language mixing, and on the emergence of mixed languages. Given its scope, this volume is a significant addition to the empirical and theoretical foundations of the study of code-switching. It is also of relevance to the general debate on the inter-relationships between language and society. 410 0$aLinguae & litterae ;$vvolume 43. 606 $aCode switching (Linguistics)$xSocial aspects 606 $aSociolinguistics$xResearch 606 $aStructural linguistics$xResearch 606 $aMultilingualism 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aCode switching (Linguistics)$xSocial aspects. 615 0$aSociolinguistics$xResearch. 615 0$aStructural linguistics$xResearch. 615 0$aMultilingualism. 676 $a404/.2 686 $aES 146$2rvk 702 $aStell$b Gerald 702 $aYakpo$b Kofi$f1970- 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910345975103321 996 $aCode-switching between structural and sociolinguistic perspectives$92061824 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04413oam 2200769 c 450 001 996308821903316 005 20240424230227.0 010 $a3-8376-3513-9 010 $a3-8394-3513-7 024 7 $a10.14361/9783839435137 035 $a(CKB)3710000000981971 035 $a(DE-B1597)477273 035 $a(OCoLC)979837660 035 $a(OCoLC)987939148 035 $a(OCoLC)992528113 035 $a(DE-B1597)9783839435137 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5493890 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL5493890 035 $a(transcript Verlag)9783839435137 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6955932 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL6955932 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31589 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000981971 100 $a20220221d2016 uy 0 101 0 $ager 135 $aurbu#---uuuuu 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aGesundheitswissen in der Schule$eSchulhygiene in der deutschsprachigen Schweiz im 19. und 20. 330 1 $aBesprochen in: Virus, 17 (2018), Annemarie Kinzelbach 410 0$aPa?dagogik 606 $aBildungsgeschichte; Wissensgeschichte; Schweiz; Schule; Gesundheit; 19.
