It shows that economic measures, which states adopted during the 1980s and 1990s, had evolved first into liberal oligarchy, and later, after the 2007-2008 global financial crisis, into illiberal and populist oligarchy. The shape and content of these two kinds of oligarchy have been determined largely because of practices and political strategies that powerful state and market actors employed. This project will appeal to a wide audience including academics, researchers, students, and anyone who is interested in oligarchy political power, IR, political economy, and sociology. Shelly Gottfried is Research Fellow and Lecturer at City, University of London, UK, and Beit-Berl Academic College, Israel. 606 $aPolitical science 606 $aComparative government 606 $aPolitical leadership 606 $aRegionalism 606 $aPolitical Science 606 $aComparative Politics 606 $aGovernance and Government 606 $aPolitical Leadership 606 $aRegionalism 615 0$aPolitical science. 615 0$aComparative government. 615 0$aPolitical leadership. 615 0$aRegionalism. 615 14$aPolitical Science. 615 24$aComparative Politics. 615 24$aGovernance and Government. 615 24$aPolitical Leadership. 615 24$aRegionalism. 676 $a321.5 676 $a321.5 700 $aGottfried$b Shelly$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01065183 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910338043603321 996 $aContemporary Oligarchies in Developed Democracies$92543694 997 $aUNINA
