It encourages NASA to plan a precursor mission using this concept and employ a ?Short Stay? Opposition Class mission to Mars as the first mission rather than the ?Long Stay? concept requiring a mission that is too long, too dangerous and too costly for man?s first missions to Mars. Included in these pages is a short history on the uses of caves by early humans over great periods of time. It then describes the ongoing efforts to research caves, pits, tunnels, lava tubes, skylights and the associated technologies that pertain to potential lunar and Mars exploration and habitation. It describes evidence for existing caves and lava tubes on both the Moon and Mars. The work of noted scientists, technologists and roboticists are referenced and described. This ongoing work is more extensive than one would think and is directly applicable to longer term habitation and exploration of the Moon and Mars. Emphasis is also given to the operational aspects of working and living in lunar and Martian caves and lava tubes. 410 0$aSpace Exploration 606 $aAstronomy 606 $aSpace sciences 606 $aPlanetary science 606 $aTechnology?History 606 $aPopular Science in Astronomy$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Q11009 606 $aSpace Sciences (including Extraterrestrial Physics, Space Exploration and Astronautics)$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P22030 606 $aPlanetology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/G18010 606 $aHistory of Technology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T29000 615 0$aAstronomy. 615 0$aSpace sciences. 615 0$aPlanetary science. 615 0$aTechnology?History. 615 14$aPopular Science in Astronomy. 615 24$aSpace Sciences (including Extraterrestrial Physics, Space Exploration and Astronautics). 615 24$aPlanetology. 615 24$aHistory of Technology. 676 $a523.4 700 $avon Ehrenfried$b Manfred "Dutch"$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0937464 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910337880403321 996 $aFrom Cave Man to Cave Martian$92522939 997 $aUNINA
