By studying the intertwinement of mainstream and Islamic finance, the author shows how PPPs have emerged as a viable and efficient organizational vehicle for fair rules of economic cooperation where the trade-offs between profit maximization and social justice values required by Islamic finance occur within the organization. The book shows the assumptions under which such compromise is beneficial to all parties, including public entities, multicultural societies and private Islamic and conventional investors. It places particular emphasis on changing the principle of allocating public resources in the uncertain legal and economic environment of the region discussed. Given the cultural idiosyncrasies, political instability, and socio-economic turmoil but high development potential in Sub-Saharan Africa, PPPs with a heterodox approach may prove to be a game-changer in the region and a platform to find a compromise between the interests of various types of investors. 410 0$aAdvances in African Economic, Social and Political Development,$x2198-7262 606 $aPublic finance 606 $aFinance, Public?Islamic countries 606 $aFinance, Public 606 $aAfrica?Economic conditions 606 $aInternational business enterprises 606 $aSchools of economics 606 $aPublic Economics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W34000 606 $aIslamic Finance$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/626040 606 $aPublic Finance$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/611000 606 $aAfrican Economics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W45020 606 $aAfrican Business$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/525030 606 $aHeterodox Economics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W53000 615 0$aPublic finance. 615 0$aFinance, Public?Islamic countries. 615 0$aFinance, Public. 615 0$aAfrica?Economic conditions. 615 0$aInternational business enterprises. 615 0$aSchools of economics. 615 14$aPublic Economics. 615 24$aIslamic Finance. 615 24$aPublic Finance. 615 24$aAfrican Economics. 615 24$aAfrican Business. 615 24$aHeterodox Economics. 676 $a336 700 $aKociemska$b Hanna$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0976802 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910337671003321 996 $aPublic?Private Partnership for Sub-Saharan Africa$92225297 997 $aUNINA
