In The Order of Things (1966), Michel Foucault focuses on the analysis of the archeological configuration of classical knowledge. This book aims to clarify the main issues of such an analysis and shows how it refers to a double question. On what sort of « thought of the Same » does the classical épistémè depend ? And how does this « thought of the Same » manage to organize the implementation of things in positive knowledge (general grammar, natural history, analysis of wealth) under the dual constraint of a classification and a taxonomy ?
