Metropolitan waters require focused ecosystem management plans and intensive in-lake efforts. We explored physico-chemical conditions, food web from viruses to fish and water birds, the sediments, the littoral zone and the catchment, management and urban planning, and global warming. Several restoration techniques were tested and critically evaluated. The final management plan was based on bi-stable theory. During the recovery phase, numerous surplus adjustments had to be implemented to secure sustainable achievement. 410 0$aAquatic Ecology Series ;$v10 606 $aAquatic ecology  606 $aWater quality 606 $aWater pollution 606 $aEcosystems 606 $aCommunity ecology, Biotic 606 $aUrban ecology (Biology) 606 $aEnvironmental management 606 $aFreshwater & Marine Ecology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L19066 606 $aWater Quality/Water Pollution$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/212000 606 $aEcosystems$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L1904X 606 $aCommunity & Population Ecology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L19120 606 $aUrban Ecology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L19160 606 $aWater Policy/Water Governance/Water Management$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/215000 615 0$aAquatic ecology . 615 0$aWater quality. 615 0$aWater pollution. 615 0$aEcosystems. 615 0$aCommunity ecology, Biotic. 615 0$aUrban ecology (Biology). 615 0$aEnvironmental management. 615 14$aFreshwater & Marine Ecology. 615 24$aWater Quality/Water Pollution. 615 24$aEcosystems. 615 24$aCommunity & Population Ecology. 615 24$aUrban Ecology. 615 24$aWater Policy/Water Governance/Water Management. 676 $a627.14 702 $aDokulil$b Martin T$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aDonabaum$b Karl$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aTeubner$b Katrin$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910309663503321 996 $aThe Alte Donau: Successful Restoration and Sustainable Management$92526776 997 $aUNINA
