It suggests that Weber?s vision shares common components with the highly efficient Prussian General Staff military bureaucracy developed by Clausewitz and Helmuth von Moltke. Weber did not believe that Germany?s other major institutions, the Civil Service, industry, or the army could deliver world class performances since he believed that they pursued narrow, selfish interests. However, following Weber?s death in 1920, the model published by his wife Marianne contained none of the military material about which Weber had written approvingly in the early chapters of Economy and Society. Glynn Cochrane concludes that Weber?s model was unlikely to include military material after the Versailles peace negotiations (in which Weber participated) outlawed the Prussian General Staff in 1919. . 606 $aEthnology 606 $aEconomic sociology 606 $aPublic administration 606 $aSocial sciences?Philosophy 606 $aMilitary history 606 $aSocial Anthropology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X12030 606 $aCultural Anthropology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/411060 606 $aOrganizational Studies, Economic Sociology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X22020 606 $aPublic Administration$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W34030 606 $aSocial Theory$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X22140 606 $aHistory of Military$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/721000 615 0$aEthnology. 615 0$aEconomic sociology. 615 0$aPublic administration. 615 0$aSocial sciences?Philosophy. 615 0$aMilitary history. 615 14$aSocial Anthropology. 615 24$aCultural Anthropology. 615 24$aOrganizational Studies, Economic Sociology. 615 24$aPublic Administration. 615 24$aSocial Theory. 615 24$aHistory of Military. 676 $a301.092 700 $aCochrane$b Glynn$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0991277 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910300564403321 996 $aMax Weber's Vision for Bureaucracy$92268371 997 $aUNINA
