These specially designed quasiparticles give the unique opportunity to study fundamental properties of quantum degenerate Bose gases in semiconductors. Furthermore, indirect excitons allow for the creation of novel optoelectronic devices where excitons are used in place of electrons. Excitonic devices are explored for the development of advanced signal processing seamlessly coupled with optical communication. The thesis presents and describes the author's imaging experiments that led to the discovery of spin transport of excitons. The many firsts presented herein include the first studies of an excitonic conveyer, leading to the discovery of the dynamical localization-delocalization transition for excitons, and the first excitonic ramp and excitonic diode with no energy-dissipating voltage gradient. . 410 0$aSpringer Theses, Recognizing Outstanding Ph.D. Research,$x2190-5053 606 $aSemiconductors 606 $aPhase transformations (Statistical physics) 606 $aCondensed matter 606 $aQuantum theory 606 $aLow temperatures 606 $aLow temperatures 606 $aLasers 606 $aPhotonics 606 $aSemiconductors$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P25150 606 $aQuantum Gases and Condensates$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P24033 606 $aQuantum Physics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P19080 606 $aLow Temperature Physics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P25130 606 $aOptics, Lasers, Photonics, Optical Devices$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P31030 615 0$aSemiconductors. 615 0$aPhase transformations (Statistical physics) 615 0$aCondensed matter. 615 0$aQuantum theory. 615 0$aLow temperatures. 615 0$aLow temperatures. 615 0$aLasers. 615 0$aPhotonics. 615 14$aSemiconductors. 615 24$aQuantum Gases and Condensates. 615 24$aQuantum Physics. 615 24$aLow Temperature Physics. 615 24$aOptics, Lasers, Photonics, Optical Devices. 676 $a530.416 700 $aLeonard$b Jason$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0835171 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910300537003321 996 $aExciton Transport Phenomena in GaAs Coupled Quantum Wells$91866555 997 $aUNINA
