The first half summarizes various aspects of 6d field theories, while the latter half investigates torus compactifications of these theories, and relates them to four-dimensional superconformal field theories in the class, called class S. It is known that compactifications of 6d conformal field theories with maximal supersymmetries provide numerous insights into four-dimensional superconformal field theories. This thesis generalizes the story to the theories with smaller supersymmetry, constructing those six-dimensional theories as brane configurations in the M-theory, and highlighting the importance of fractionalization of M5-branes. This result establishes new dualities between the theories with eight supercharges. 410 0$aSpringer Theses, Recognizing Outstanding Ph.D. Research,$x2190-5053 606 $aQuantum field theory 606 $aString models 606 $aPhysics 606 $aParticles (Nuclear physics) 606 $aQuantum Field Theories, String Theory$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P19048 606 $aMathematical Methods in Physics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P19013 606 $aElementary Particles, Quantum Field Theory$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P23029 615 0$aQuantum field theory. 615 0$aString models. 615 0$aPhysics. 615 0$aParticles (Nuclear physics) 615 14$aQuantum Field Theories, String Theory. 615 24$aMathematical Methods in Physics. 615 24$aElementary Particles, Quantum Field Theory. 676 $a530.14 700 $aOhmori$b Kantaro$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0835969 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910300532603321 996 $aSix-Dimensional Superconformal Field Theories and Their Torus Compactifications$91868325 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02834oam 2200493I 450 001 9910162819503321 005 20230810001825.0 010 $a1-315-38586-4 010 $a1-315-38585-6 010 $a1-315-38584-8 024 7 $a10.4324/9781315385860 035 $a(CKB)3710000001033124 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC4790134 035 $a(OCoLC)971253796 035 $a(BIP)56714914 035 $a(BIP)62407584 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000001033124 100 $a20180706e20171989 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $2rdacontent 182 $2rdamedia 183 $2rdacarrier 200 10$aThemes in value and distribution $eclassical theory reappraised /$fKrishna Bharadwaj 210 1$aAbingdon, Oxon :$cRoutledge,$d2017. 215 $a1 online resource (354 pages) 225 0 $aRoutledge Library Editions : The History of Economic Thought ;$vVolume 2 300 $aFirst published in 1989 by Unwin Hyman Ltd. 311 08$a1-138-23045-6 311 08$a1-138-23044-8 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references at the end of each chapters and index. 327 $a1. In a sustained and analytical critique, two principle methodological approaches are compared and distinguished: the Classical or 'surplus-based' theories and the demand-and-supply-based equilibrium (DSE) theories. Although the essays are primarily concerned with value and distribution, the critique necessarily extends to the theory of output and employment, and in general, to the theory of trade and accumulation. The book will be an invaluable reader for students of economic thought, capital theory and Marxian political economy. 606 $aClassical school of economics 615 0$aClassical school of economics. 676 $a330.15/3 700 $aBharadwaj$b Krishna.$0122313 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910162819503321 996 $aThemes in value and distribution$9920472 997 $aUNINA
