The measured value of the cross-section within the fiducial range of the analysis is ?_e^HF = 0.946 ± 0.020(stat.) ± 0.146(syst.) ± 0.032(lumi.) ?b. Theoretical predictions are in good agreement with the measurement. The second part of this thesis is a search for compressed supersymmetric scenarios in events with missing transverse energy, jets, and one isolated low-pT lepton in the final state using 4.7 fb-1 of ATLAS data collected at 7 TeV center-of-mass energy in 2011. No significant excess of events over the Standard Model expectation is observed and exclusion limits are derived for a number of supersymmetric models. 410 0$aSpringer Theses, Recognizing Outstanding Ph.D. Research,$x2190-5053 606 $aElementary particles (Physics) 606 $aQuantum field theory 606 $aString theory 606 $aElementary Particles, Quantum Field Theory$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P23029 606 $aQuantum Field Theories, String Theory$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P19048 615 0$aElementary particles (Physics). 615 0$aQuantum field theory. 615 0$aString theory. 615 14$aElementary Particles, Quantum Field Theory. 615 24$aQuantum Field Theories, String Theory. 676 $a539.721 700 $aBackes$b Moritz$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0791857 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910300375803321 996 $aMeasurement of the Inclusive Electron Cross-Section from Heavy-Flavour Decays and Search for Compressed Supersymmetric Scenarios with the ATLAS Experiment$91770506 997 $aUNINA
