The book reports that coupling solar energy and thermal energy can significantly enhance methane conversion at mild temperatures using plasmonic nanometal-based catalysts, with a substantial decrease in apparent activation energy of methane conversion. Furthermore, this book, for the first time, reports the direct photocatalytic methane oxidation into liquid oxygenates (methanol and formaldehyde) with only molecular oxygen in pure water at room temperature with high yield and selectivity over nanometals and semiconductors (zinc oxide and titanium dioxide). These findings are a big stride toward methane conversion and inspire researchers to develop strategies for efficient and selective conversion of methane to high-value-added chemicals under mild conditions. 410 0$aSpringer Theses, Recognizing Outstanding Ph.D. Research,$x2190-5053 606 $aMaterials science 615 0$aMaterials science. 676 $a661.814 700 $aSong$b Hui$01058241 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bUtOrBLW 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910426042203321 996 $aSolar-energy-mediated methane conversion over nanometal and semiconductor catalysts$92498026 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04190nam 22007095 450 001 9910299844003321 005 20220404173836.0 010 $a3-319-12529-X 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-319-12529-9 035 $a(CKB)3710000000315932 035 $a(EBL)1965426 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001408095 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11746682 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001408095 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11348182 035 $a(PQKB)10389589 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-319-12529-9 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1965426 035 $a(PPN)183149394 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000315932 100 $a20141210d2015 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 14$aThe art of regression modeling in road safety /$fby Ezra Hauer 205 $a1st ed. 2015. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Springer,$d2015. 215 $a1 online resource (241 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a3-319-12528-1 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references at the end of each chapters and index. 327 $aWhat is what?- A Safety Performance Function for real populations -- Exploratory data analysis -- Curve fitting -- Preparing for parametric curve-fitting: The 'Solver' -- A first parametric SPF -- Which fit is fitter?- What to optimize?- Adding variables -- Choosing the function behind the data -- Accuracies -- Closure. 330 $aThis unique book explains how to fashion useful regression models from commonly available data to erect models essential for evidence-based road safety management and research. Composed from techniques and best practices presented over many years of lectures and workshops, The Art of Regression Modeling in Road Safety illustrates that fruitful modeling cannot be done without substantive knowledge about the modeled phenomenon. Class-tested in courses and workshops across North America, the book is ideal for professionals, researchers, university professors, and graduate students with an interest in, or responsibilities related to, road safety. This book also: · Presents for the first time a powerful analytical tool for road safety researchers and practitioners · Includes problems and solutions in each chapter as well as data and spreadsheets for running models and PowerPoint presentation slides · Features pedagogy well-suited for graduate courses and workshops including problems, solutions, and PowerPoint presentations · Equips readers to perform all analyses on a spreadsheet without requiring mastery of complex and costly software · Emphasizes understanding without esoteric mathematics · Makes assumptions visible and explains their role and consequences. 606 $aTransportation engineering 606 $aTraffic engineering 606 $aStatistics 606 $aQuality control 606 $aReliability 606 $aIndustrial safety 606 $aTransportation Technology and Traffic Engineering$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T23120 606 $aStatistics for Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry and Earth Sciences$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/S17020 606 $aQuality Control, Reliability, Safety and Risk$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T22032 615 0$aTransportation engineering. 615 0$aTraffic engineering. 615 0$aStatistics. 615 0$aQuality control. 615 0$aReliability. 615 0$aIndustrial safety. 615 14$aTransportation Technology and Traffic Engineering. 615 24$aStatistics for Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry and Earth Sciences. 615 24$aQuality Control, Reliability, Safety and Risk. 676 $a519 676 $a519.5 676 $a620 676 $a658.56 700 $aHauer$b Ezra$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0720968 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910299844003321 996 $aArt of Regression Modeling in Road Safety$91413092 997 $aUNINA
