Conclusion. 330 3 $aFirst published in 1998, this book is an examination of antiracist discourses and practices in France. It sets out to trace the development of post-war French antiracism through the life of antiracist organizations, setting this within a broader historical, political and social context. It breaks new ground in that it analyses antiracism as a body of ideas in its own right, rather than as a mirror image of racism. The author uses previously unpublished archival material from French organizations combined with observations from current events. She argues that antiracist discourses and practices are structured around four main themes: discrimination, representation, solidarity and hegemony. While perceptions of discrimination have evolved into complex understandings of social exclusion, the representational functions of antiracist groups were challenged by immigrant workers movements themselves. Solidarity remained central to antiracist practices in different political contexts. Underpinning these features lies a hegemonic social project through which antiracists have sought to promote a 'common sense' through political and educational campaigns. The author concludes that French antiracism although constantly changing and refocusing is now a pluralist, transversal, hegemonic movement and an important component of civil society. 410 0$aRoutledge Revivals. 606 $aNational characteristics, French 606 $aAnti-racism$zFrance 606 $aRace awareness$zFrance 606 $aToleration 606 $aMulticulturalism$zFrance 615 0$aNational characteristics, French. 615 0$aAnti-racism 615 0$aRace awareness 615 0$aToleration. 615 0$aMulticulturalism 676 $a305.800944 700 $aLloyd$b Catherine$01212093 801 0$bFlBoTFG 801 1$bFlBoTFG 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910793372403321 996 $aDiscourses of Antiracism in France$93840969 997 $aUNINA LEADER 05010nam 22008775 450 001 9910299668903321 005 20230928012033.0 010 $a3-319-08882-3 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-319-08882-2 035 $a(CKB)3710000000306097 035 $a(EBL)1965377 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001386247 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11809729 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001386247 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11350207 035 $a(PQKB)11092978 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-319-08882-2 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1965377 035 $a(PPN)183087453 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000306097 100 $a20141127d2015 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aLasers with Nuclear Pumping /$fby S.P. This book showcases the most important results and stages of NPL development in The Russian Federal Nuclear Center (VNIIEF) as well as other Russian and international laboratories, including laboratories in the United States. The basic science and technology behind NPLs along with potential applications are covered throughout the book. As such, this book: ·         Contains a historical overview of the extensive information developed over the past 40 years of work on NPLs ·         Covers the most important results and stages of NPL development, not just in the Russian Federal Nuclear Center, VNIIEF, but also in other laboratories in Russia, the United States , and some other scattered international laboratories ·         Systematizes the fragmented information accumulated over these years of very active research and development As the first comprehensive discussion of NPLs, students, researchers, and application engineers interested in high energy lasers will find this book an extremely valuable source of information about these unique lasers. 606 $aNuclear energy 606 $aAtoms 606 $aPhysics 606 $aPlasma (Ionized gases) 606 $aLasers 606 $aPhotonics 606 $aOptical materials 606 $aElectronics$xMaterials 606 $aNuclear Energy$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/113000 606 $aAtoms and Molecules in Strong Fields, Laser Matter Interaction$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P24025 606 $aPlasma Physics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P24040 606 $aOptics, Lasers, Photonics, Optical Devices$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P31030 606 $aOptical and Electronic Materials$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Z12000 615 0$aNuclear energy. 615 0$aAtoms. 615 0$aPhysics. 615 0$aPlasma (Ionized gases) 615 0$aLasers. 615 0$aPhotonics. 615 0$aOptical materials. 615 0$aElectronics$xMaterials. 615 14$aNuclear Energy. 615 24$aAtoms and Molecules in Strong Fields, Laser Matter Interaction. 615 24$aPlasma Physics. 615 24$aOptics, Lasers, Photonics, Optical Devices. 615 24$aOptical and Electronic Materials. 676 $a530.44 676 $a539 676 $a620 676 $a620.11295 676 $a620.11297 676 $a621.36 676 $a621.48 700 $aMelnikov$b S.P$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01065011 702 $aSinyanskii$b A.A$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aSizov$b A.N$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aMiley$b George H$g(George Hunter),$f1933-$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910299668903321 996 $aLasers with Nuclear Pumping$92542296 997 $aUNINA
