An important facet of European economic integration was the development of a free-trade area in Central and Eastern Europe, which improved market accessibility. However, to date these relations have been little explored theoretically. The book examines foreign investments in different transition countries from both a theoretical and an empirical perspective. It analyzes changes in the choice of location by foreign investors in nineteen CEE countries between 1992 and 2015, and shows that it is linked to the removal of intra-regional trade barriers. The findings suggest that regional integration increases the incentives for multinationals to invest in the participating countries, especially in those with larger markets and lower production costs. 410 0$aContributions to Economics,$x1431-1933 606 $aInternational economic relations 606 $aMacroeconomics 606 $aEurope?Economic conditions 606 $aEconomic policy 606 $aRegional economics 606 $aSpace in economics 606 $aCapital market 606 $aInternational Economics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W33000 606 $aMacroeconomics/Monetary Economics//Financial Economics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W32000 606 $aEuropean Economics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W45030 606 $aEconomic Policy$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W34010 606 $aRegional/Spatial Science$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W49000 606 $aCapital Markets$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/616000 615 0$aInternational economic relations. 615 0$aMacroeconomics. 615 0$aEurope?Economic conditions. 615 0$aEconomic policy. 615 0$aRegional economics. 615 0$aSpace in economics. 615 0$aCapital market. 615 14$aInternational Economics. 615 24$aMacroeconomics/Monetary Economics//Financial Economics. 615 24$aEuropean Economics. 615 24$aEconomic Policy. 615 24$aRegional/Spatial Science. 615 24$aCapital Markets. 676 $a337 700 $aMakhavikova$b Hanna$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01063845 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910299640803321 996 $aDeterminants of FDI in Central and Eastern Europe$92535063 997 $aUNINA
