Bordering the main thoroughfare leading from the Byrsa Hill to the ports, the neighbourhood remained primarily a residential one from the second century until 530s AD when a substantial basilica was constructed over the eastern half of the insula. Further extensive modifications were made to the basilica half a century later when the structures on the western half of the insula were demolished and the basilica greatly enlarged with the addition of new east-west aisles, a large monumental baptistery and a crypt. By carefully reconstructing the complex architectural plan of this innovative building, this study shows how the remodelled Bir Messaouda basilica was transformed into a major pilgrimage centre; overturning established tradition that located such complexes outside the city walls. The Bir Messaouda basilica provides important insights into the transition between Vandal and Byzantine control of the city, the development of a new Christian intermural urban landscape in the sixth century AD, and the significance of the pilgrimage in reinforcing ecclesiastical authority in post-Justinianic North Africa." --$cBack cover. 606 $aExcavations (Archaeology)$zTunisia$zCarthage (Extinct city) 607 $aCarthage (Extinct city) 607 $aCarthage (Extinct city)$xBuildings, structures, etc 607 $aTunisia$zCarthage (Extinct city)$2fast 615 0$aExcavations (Archaeology) 676 $a939.73 700 $aMiles$b Richard$f1969-$0788629 702 $aGreenslade$b Simon 702 $aBockmann$b Ralf$c(Archaeologist), 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bUtOrBLW 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910821689703321 996 $aThe Bir Messaouda basilica$94047918 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01221nam 22004213 450 001 9910163311603321 005 20230220084621.0 010 $a9781785435508 010 $a1785435507 035 $a(CKB)3710000001046604 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC7197400 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL7197400 035 $a(BIP)059612541 035 $a(OCoLC)1370494478 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000001046604 100 $a20230220d2016 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 14$aThe First Men In The Moon $eSome people bear three kinds of trouble - The ten workshops comprised Process-oriented Information Systems in Healthcare (ProHealth 2014), Security in Business Processes (SBP 2014), Process Model Collections: Management and Reuse (PMC-MR 2014), Business Processes in Collective Adaptive Systems (BPCAS 2014), Data- and Artifact-centric BPM (DAB 2014), Business Process Intelligence (BPI 2014), Business Process Management in the Cloud (BPMC 2014), Theory and Applications of Process Visualization (TaProViz 2014), Business Process Management and Social Software (BPMS2 2014) and Decision Mining and Modeling for Business Processes (DeMiMoP 2014). The 38 revised full and eight short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 84 submissions. In addition, six short papers resulting from the Doctoral Consortium at BPM 2014 are included in this book. 410 0$aLecture Notes in Business Information Processing,$x1865-1356 ;$v202 606 $aInformation technology$xManagement 606 $aApplication software 606 $aMedical informatics 606 $aBusiness information services 606 $aComputer Application in Administrative Data Processing 606 $aBusiness Process Management 606 $aComputer and Information Systems Applications 606 $aHealth Informatics 606 $aBusiness Information Systems 615 0$aInformation technology$xManagement. 615 0$aApplication software. 615 0$aMedical informatics. 615 0$aBusiness information services. 615 14$aComputer Application in Administrative Data Processing. 615 24$aBusiness Process Management. 615 24$aComputer and Information Systems Applications. 615 24$aHealth Informatics. 615 24$aBusiness Information Systems. 676 $a658.054 702 $aFournier$b Fabiana$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aMendling$b Jan$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910299227203321 996 $aBusiness Process Management Workshops$92590658 997 $aUNINA
