Introduction -- 2. Research -- 3.Conclusions. 330 $aOrganisations face many challenges, which induce them to perform better, and thus to establish mature (or excellent) business processes. As they now face globalisation, higher competitiveness, demanding customers, growing IT possibilities, compliancy rules, etc., business process maturity models (BPMMs) have been introduced to help organisations gradually assess and improve their business processes (e.g. CMMI or OMG-BPMM). In fact, there are now so many BPMMs to choose from that organisations risk selecting one that does not fit their needs, or one of substandard quality. This book presents a study that distinguishes process management from process orientation so as to arrive at a common understanding. It also includes a classification study to identify the capability areas and maturity types of 69 existing BPMMs, in order to strengthen the basis of available BPMMs. Lastly it presents a selection study to identify criteria for choosing one BPMM from the broad selection, which produced a free online selection tool, BPMM Smart-Selector. 410 0$aSpringerBriefs in Business Process Management,$x2197-9618 606 $aInformation technology 606 $aBusiness?Data processing 606 $aEconomic sociology 606 $aOperations research 606 $aDecision making 606 $aMathematical optimization 606 $aIT in Business$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/522000 606 $aOrganizational Studies, Economic Sociology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X22020 606 $aOperations Research/Decision Theory$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/521000 606 $aContinuous Optimization$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M26030 615 0$aInformation technology. 615 0$aBusiness?Data processing. 615 0$aEconomic sociology. 615 0$aOperations research. 615 0$aDecision making. 615 0$aMathematical optimization. 615 14$aIT in Business. 615 24$aOrganizational Studies, Economic Sociology. 615 24$aOperations Research/Decision Theory. 615 24$aContinuous Optimization. 676 $a658.4038 700 $aVan Looy$b Amy$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0862351 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910298554803321 996 $aBusiness Process Maturity$92511273 997 $aUNINA
