The reflections on body, sexuality, and gender in African literary texts brought together in this volume do not consider these three terms as separate entities but instead as closely related to each other, each term questioning the other: bodies and sexualities that are transgressing concepts of gender, gender that is probing body and sexuality. With regard to Africa, the three concepts form a particularly contested space, because bo 410 0$aMatatu ;$vno. 29-30. 410 0$aVersions and subversions in African literatures ;$v1. 606 $aAfrican literature$y20th century$xHistory and criticism 606 $aFeminism in literature 606 $aHomosexuality in literature 606 $aSex in literature 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aAfrican literature$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aFeminism in literature. 615 0$aHomosexuality in literature. 615 0$aSex in literature. 676 $a896 701 $aNaguschewski$b Dirk$0603235 701 $aVeit-Wild$b Flora$f1947-$0223257 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910451589903321 996 $aBody, sexuality, and gender$92295618 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04464nam 22007575 450 001 9910298364803321 005 20250609111651.0 010 $a3-319-04190-8 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-319-04190-2 035 $a(CKB)2550000001199583 035 $a(EBL)1698448 035 $a(OCoLC)880551747 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001178886 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11768643 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001178886 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11180430 035 $a(PQKB)10753691 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1698448 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-319-04190-2 035 $a(PPN)176109145 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6234113 035 $a(EXLCZ)992550000001199583 100 $a20140121d2014 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aPricing Urban Water $eEvaluation of Economics in the Water Sector of Hyderabad and Varanasi (India) /$fby Laura Echternacht 205 $a1st ed. 2014. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Springer,$d2014. 215 $a1 online resource (106 p.) 225 1 $aSpringerBriefs in Water Science and Technology,$x2194-7244 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 08$a3-319-04189-4 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references at the end of each chapters. 327 $aFrom the Contents: Water pricing -- Water supply and sanitation service -- Examples of implemented water tariffs in different countries -- General information on water supply and sanitation in India -- Hyderabad. 330 $aHigh population growth, informal settlements, and organizational and financial mismanagement represent major challenges for the water supply in many cities in developing countries. This book contributes to solving those problems by identifying systematic shortcomings and proposing solutions to improve the financial conditions in two representative cities: Hyderabad and Varanasi. Serious improvements are necessary for the further development of the water supply and sanitation networks in these areas.   Pricing Urban Water offers a theoretical introduction to economics of the water sector, including the theory of water pricing and tariff systems, combined with detailed analyses of the water supply and sanitation infrastructure as well as of the municipal suppliers of Hyderabad and Varanasi. Introducing a method for estimating future water production costs in both cities serves as the basis for a tariff revision, which is put forward as one solution to improve the poor financial conditions both suppliers are in. Besides the revision of the tariff systems, some considerations on how to supply and charge urban poor and on the inclusion of private borewells in the tariffs are part of the discussion. Changes in both the organizational structure of the service providers and in the current delivery and use of the services are presented as further solutions to the problems in this sector. 410 0$aSpringerBriefs in Water Science and Technology,$x2194-7244 606 $aDevelopment economics 606 $aEnvironmental management 606 $aSustainable development 606 $aWater-supply 606 $aDevelopment Economics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W42000 606 $aWater Policy/Water Governance/Water Management$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/215000 606 $aSustainable Development$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/U34000 606 $aWater Industry/Water Technologies$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/214000 607 $aIndia$zHyderabad$2fast 607 $aIndia$zVa?ra?nasi (Uttar Pradesh)$2fast 615 0$aDevelopment economics. 615 0$aEnvironmental management. 615 0$aSustainable development. 615 0$aWater-supply. 615 14$aDevelopment Economics. 615 24$aWater Policy/Water Governance/Water Management. 615 24$aSustainable Development. 615 24$aWater Industry/Water Technologies. 676 $a628.1091732 700 $aEchternacht$b Laura$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01061754 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910298364803321 996 $aPricing Urban Water$92519983 997 $aUNINA
