However little research has been devoted to whether this effect exists in collective imaginations, of social groups, communities and nations, for instance. This book explores the part that imagination and creativity play in the construction of collective futures, and the diversity of outlets in which these are presented, from fiction and cultural symbols to science and technology. The authors discuss this effect in social phenomena such as in intergroup conflict and social change, and focus on several cases studies to illustrate how the imagination of collective futures can guide social and political action. This book brings together theoretical and empirical contributions from cultural, social, and political psychology to offer insight into our constant (re)imagination of the societies in which we live. 410 0$aPalgrave Studies in Creativity and Culture,$x2755-4511 606 $aPersonality 606 $aDifference (Psychology) 606 $aCommunity psychology 606 $aSocial psychology 606 $aPolitical science?Philosophy 606 $aPhilosophy of mind 606 $aPersonality and Differential Psychology 606 $aCommunity Psychology 606 $aSocial Psychology 606 $aPolitical Philosophy 606 $aPhilosophy of Mind 615 0$aPersonality. 615 0$aDifference (Psychology). 615 0$aCommunity psychology. 615 0$aSocial psychology. 615 0$aPolitical science?Philosophy. 615 0$aPhilosophy of mind. 615 14$aPersonality and Differential Psychology. 615 24$aCommunity Psychology. 615 24$aSocial Psychology. 615 24$aPolitical Philosophy. 615 24$aPhilosophy of Mind. 676 $a155.2 676 $a302 702 $ade Saint-Laurent$b Constance$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aObradovi?$b Sandra$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aCarriere$b Kevin R$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910298355803321 996 $aImagining Collective Futures$91558509 997 $aUNINA
