Because of the destruction of forests, the degradation of old palm leaf manuscripts, and decreasing interest in traditional medicine by younger generations, it is becoming more and more important to record medicinal plant knowledge before it is lost. This research provides written and photographic documentation of some of the medicinal plant knowledge held by the people of Laos. Translating and validating some of the power of traditional medicine used in Laos into biomedical terms through laboratory analyses may serve to demonstrate its importance in a global language. In this text, the translational research was performed through in vitro laboratory analyses of select plant species with a history to treat symptoms of TB. The processes of plant collection, extraction, biological assays, and isolation/elucidation are also described and detailed in the Biochemical Validation section. The biomedical discoveries explored in, Ethnobotany of Tuberculosis in Laos, stresses the importance of conserving and sustaining our natural ecosystems for medicinal preservation and  utilization. 410 0$aSpringerBriefs in Plant Science,$x2192-1229 606 $aBiotic communities 606 $aBotanical chemistry 606 $aPlants$vClassification 606 $aPlants$vClassification 606 $aBiodiversity 606 $aPlant ecology 606 $aPlant genetics 606 $aEcosystems$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L1904X 606 $aPlant Biochemistry$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L14021 606 $aPlant Systematics/Taxonomy/Biogeography$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L24051 606 $aBiodiversity$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L19031 606 $aPlant Ecology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L19112 606 $aPlant Genetics and Genomics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L32020 615 0$aBiotic communities. 615 0$aBotanical chemistry. 615 0$aPlants 615 0$aPlants 615 0$aBiodiversity. 615 0$aPlant ecology. 615 0$aPlant genetics. 615 14$aEcosystems. 615 24$aPlant Biochemistry. 615 24$aPlant Systematics/Taxonomy/Biogeography. 615 24$aBiodiversity. 615 24$aPlant Ecology. 615 24$aPlant Genetics and Genomics. 676 $a616.995 700 $aElkington$b Bethany Gwen$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01062866 702 $aSoejarto$b Djaja Djendoel$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aKongmany Sydara$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910298327203321 996 $aEthnobotany of Tuberculosis in Laos$92528802 997 $aUNINA
