Including or excluding companies, engaging with companies, partnering with stakeholders, evaluating environmental and societal controversies, defining criteria and, all the while, producing a competitive return for investors can raise multiple questions that cannot be dealt with simply. The practice of RI faces many such dilemmas as it seeks to balance the competing goals of business, society, and finance and to judge how best to reconcile what are often conflicting concerns. Dilemmas in Responsible Investment examines the problems responsible investment practitioners face daily. It emphasises the importance of asking the right questions as well as getting the right answers; and the importance of process as well as product. The authors pay attention to the diversity of opinion and variety of approaches available. They also raise fundamental questions about the very purpose of investment and the responsibilities of investors, both economic and societal. 606 $aInvestments$xDecision making 606 $aInvestments$xMoral and ethical aspects 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aInvestments$xDecision making. 615 0$aInvestments$xMoral and ethical aspects. 676 $a332.6 700 $aLouche$b Ce?line$0849702 801 0$bOCoLC-P 801 1$bOCoLC-P 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910462924803321 996 $aDilemmas in responsible investment$92459734 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01328nam 2200373 n 450 001 996384329703316 005 20221108040513.0 035 $a(CKB)1000000000582425 035 $a(EEBO)2240909657 035 $a(UnM)99861819 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000582425 100 $a19920717d1647 uy | 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurbn||||a|bb| 200 10$aMajor VVither's disclaimer$b[electronic resource] $ebeing a disavowment of a late paper, entituled The doubtfull almanack. This book sheds more light on the structure of South Africa?s economy, its industrial sector and inter-sectoral linkages by simulating an economic geography model of the vertical linkages type, by testing linkage strength econometrically and by analysing industrial policy?s role in shaping its development path. It finds that linkages did play an important role in industrial development in South Africa, yet they have often been reinforced by policy interventions. Industrial policy is still geared to benefit the sectors close to the country?s mineral endowment, and thus contributes to South Africa?s lopsided industrial development. 517 $aForschungsergebnisse der Wirtschaftsuniversitaet Wien vol. 41 517 $aLinkages in South African Economic Development 606 $aEconomics 607 $aSouth Africa$xEconomic policy 615 0$aEconomics. 700 $aSchwank$b Oliver$0881979 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910297042103321 996 $aLinkages in South African economic development$93404618 997 $aUNINA
