The growth of large scale international surveys of student achievement and the increasing role played by intergovernmental agencies in education means that the influence that globalization exerts on education is likely to increase even further in the future. This open access book provides a significant and timely investigation into the impacts that globalization has exerted on science curricula in a diverse range of countries using extensive data sets collected by the IEA between 1995 and 2015. Using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, this book considers the extent to which there have been changes to the intended and implemented science curricula in different countries over the last 20 years. Consideration is then given as to whether science curricula are becoming increasingly similar across countries over time. Finally the issue of whether the basis of an international core curriculum can be identified is addressed. Readers will gain a unique insight into the extent to which globalization and large scale international assessments have influenced science curricula in the last 20 years within both the primary and secondary phases. . 410 0$aIEA Research for Education, A Series of In-depth Analyses Based on Data of the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA),$x2366-1631 ;$v3 606 $aInternational education  606 $aComparative education 606 $aAssessment 606 $aEducational policy 606 $aEducation and state 606 $aInternational and Comparative Education$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/O13000 606 $aAssessment, Testing and Evaluation$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/O33000 606 $aEducational Policy and Politics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/O19000 615 0$aInternational education . 615 0$aComparative education. 615 0$aAssessment. 615 0$aEducational policy. 615 0$aEducation and state. 615 14$aInternational and Comparative Education. 615 24$aAssessment, Testing and Evaluation. 615 24$aEducational Policy and Politics. 676 $a370.116 676 $a370.9 700 $aStacey$b Oliver$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0992110 702 $aDe Lazzari$b Giulia$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aGrayson$b Hilary$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aGriffin$b Hazel$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aJones$b Emily$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aTaylor$b Amanda$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aThomas$b David$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910293145803321 996 $aThe Globalization of Science Curricula$92271066 997 $aUNINA
