In proposing a number of revisionist alternatives, Ercan proposes a way forward for R2P, particularly regarding its Second and Third Pillars. Despite the debate shifting from a right to intervene towards a responsibility to protect, the conceptual and systemic limitations imposed on R2P via its institutionalisation have hampered its ability to consolidate change. In light of this, Ercan argues that R2P cannot make a positive contribution towards changing the international system without first being equipped with new powers. 606 $aInternational relations 606 $aPeace 606 $aInternational Relations$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/912000 606 $aPeace Studies$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/912070 606 $aConflict Studies$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/912060 615 0$aInternational relations. 615 0$aPeace. 615 14$aInternational Relations. 615 24$aPeace Studies. 615 24$aConflict Studies. 676 $a172/.4 686 $aPOL011000$aPOL035010$aPOL040020$2bisacsh 700 $aGözen Ercan$b Pinar$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01059630 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910255303103321 996 $aDebating the Future of the ?Responsibility to Protect?$92507415 997 $aUNINA
