A Socio-Behavioural Approach in Policing the Mafia-Organised Crime Spectrum. 330 $aThis book presents primary research conducted in Italy, USA, Australia and the UK on countering strategies and institutional perceptions of Italian mafias and local organized crime groups. Through interviews and interpretation of original documents, this study firstly demonstrates the interaction between institutional understanding of the criminal threats and historical events that have shaped these perceptions. Secondly, it combines analysis of policies and criminal law provisions to identify how policing models which combat mafia and organised crime activities are organized and constructed in each country within a comparative perspective. After presenting the similarities between the four differing policing models, Sergi pushes the comparison further by identifying both conceptual and procedural convergences and divergences across both the four models and within international frameworks. By looking at topics as varied as mafia mobility, money laundering, drug networks and gang violence, this book ultimately seeks to reconsider the conceptualizations of both mafia and organized crime from a socio-behavioural and cultural perspective. 410 0$aCritical Criminological Perspectives 606 $aOrganized crime 606 $aTransnational crime 606 $aCrime?Sociological aspects 606 $aCriminal behavior 606 $aCommercial crimes 606 $aOrganized Crime$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/1B8000 606 $aTransnational Crime$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/1B4000 606 $aCrime and Society$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/1B3000 606 $aCriminal Behavior$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/1BG000 606 $aFinancial Crime$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/1BD010 615 0$aOrganized crime. 615 0$aTransnational crime. 615 0$aCrime?Sociological aspects. 615 0$aCriminal behavior. 615 0$aCommercial crimes. 615 14$aOrganized Crime. 615 24$aTransnational Crime. 615 24$aCrime and Society. 615 24$aCriminal Behavior. 615 24$aFinancial Crime. 676 $a364.168 700 $aSergi$b Anna$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0999696 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910255266203321 996 $aFrom Mafia to Organised Crime$92294821 997 $aUNINA
