This book deals primarily with hitherto unexplored aspects of his career: his biographical background in the British upper class, his devoted film criticism, and his angry relationship to contemporary society in general. Thus, the book contains, for instance, chapters about his childhood in India, his writings about John Ford, his relationship to French star Serge Reggiani, his work on TV in the 1950s, with scripts provided by blacklisted scriptwriters, his troubles with the British film establishment, and his gradually emerging concern regarding himself being Scottish, not English. The book also has some chapters written by close friends of Anderson, who died in 1994, dwelling on his penchant for controversy and quarrel, but also on his remarkable artistic talent and strong commitment. 606 $aMotion pictures$xProduction and direction 606 $aEthnology$zGreat Britain 606 $aCulture 606 $aMotion pictures$zGreat Britain 606 $aMotion pictures$xHistory 606 $aDirecting 606 $aBritish Culture 606 $aBritish Film and TV 606 $aFilm and TV History 615 0$aMotion pictures$xProduction and direction. 615 0$aEthnology 615 0$aCulture. 615 0$aMotion pictures 615 0$aMotion pictures$xHistory. 615 14$aDirecting. 615 24$aBritish Culture. 615 24$aBritish Film and TV. 615 24$aFilm and TV History. 676 $a791.43 702 $aHedling$b Erik$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aDupin$b Christophe$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910255232503321 996 $aLindsay Anderson Revisited$92526118 997 $aUNINA
