In short, these x-rays offer what we might describe as a metamorpho-physiological approach to the superheroes in feature films, theatrical cartoon shorts, and Netflix television series. This approach examines the ways in which the ?substance? of superheroes, which includes their masks, costumes, chevrons, weapons, and auras, extends into the diegetic environment of the film, transgressing it, transforming it, and corporealizing it, making it emblematic of the shape, dimensions, contours, and organismic workings of one or more of our major organs, members, orifices, fluids, or cell clusters. Thus the superhero film, as this study claims, works to make us more aware of the mutability, adaptability, modifiability, and virtual capabilities of our own flesh. 606 $aFilm genres 606 $aMotion pictures 606 $aMotion pictures?United States 606 $aUnited States?Study and teaching 606 $aGenre$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/413110 606 $aFilm Theory$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/413090 606 $aAmerican Cinema and TV$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/413010 606 $aAmerican Culture$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/411010 615 0$aFilm genres. 615 0$aMotion pictures. 615 0$aMotion pictures?United States. 615 0$aUnited States?Study and teaching. 615 14$aGenre. 615 24$aFilm Theory. 615 24$aAmerican Cinema and TV. 615 24$aAmerican Culture. 676 $a741.43652 700 $aDudenhoeffer$b Larrie$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01061278 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910255095603321 996 $aAnatomy of the Superhero Film$92518152 997 $aUNINA
