Theirs is a story of exile, imprisonment, torture, and loss, but also of dignity, courage, and strength in the face of appalling adversity. Originally published in Great Britain to critical acclaim, A Burning Hunger: One Family's Struggle Against Apartheid tells a deeply moving human story and is one of the seminal books about the struggle against apartheid. This family, Joseph and Nomkhitha Mashinini and their thirteen children, became immersed in almost every facet of the liberation 606 $aApartheid$zSouth Africa 606 $aAnti-apartheid movements$zSouth Africa 606 $aCivil rights workers$zSouth Africa$vBiography 606 $aCivil rights workers, Black$zSouth Africa$vBiography 606 $aPolitical activists$zSouth Africa$vBiography 607 $aSouth Africa$xRace relations$xHistory$y20th century 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aApartheid 615 0$aAnti-apartheid movements 615 0$aCivil rights workers 615 0$aCivil rights workers, Black 615 0$aPolitical activists 676 $a323.092/268 700 $aSchuster$b Lynda$0269878 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910454379703321 996 $aA burning hunger$92131711 997 $aUNINA LEADER 05668nam 22006855 450 001 9910254841803321 005 20200705070359.0 010 $a981-10-2167-8 024 7 $a10.1007/978-981-10-2167-1 035 $a(CKB)3710000001080175 035 $a(DE-He213)978-981-10-2167-1 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC4814238 035 $a(PPN)19886695X 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000001080175 100 $a20170228d2017 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn|008mamaa 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aTongue Image Analysis /$fby David Zhang, Hongzhi Zhang, Bob Zhang 205 $a1st ed. 2017. 210 1$aSingapore :$cSpringer Singapore :$cImprint: Springer,$d2017. 215 $a1 online resource (XV, 335 p. 193 illus., 144 illus. in color.) 311 $a981-10-2166-X 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $a1. Book Review and Future Word. 330 $aThis is the first book offering a systematic description of tongue image analysis and processing technologies and their typical applications in computerized tongue diagnostic (CTD) systems. It features the most current research findings in all aspects of tongue image acquisition, preprocessing, classification, and diagnostic support methodologies, from theoretical and algorithmic problems to prototype design and development of CTD systems. The book begins with a very in-depth description of CTD on a need-to-know basis which includes an overview of CTD systems and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in order to provide the information on the context and background of tongue image analysis. The core part then introduces algorithms as well as their implementation methods, at a know-how level, including image segmentation methods, chromatic correction, and classification of tongue images. Some clinical applications based on these methods are presented for the show-how purpose in the CTD research field. Case studies highlight different techniques that have been adopted to assist the visual inspection of appendicitis, diabetes, and other common diseases. Experimental results under different challenging clinical circumstances have demonstrated the superior performance of these techniques. In this book, the principles of tongue image analysis are illustrated with plentiful graphs, tables, and practical experiments to provide insights into some of the problems. In this way, readers can easily find a quick and systematic way through the complicated theories and they can later even extend their studies to special topics of interest. This book will be of benefit to researchers, professionals, and graduate students working in the field of computer vision, pattern recognition, clinical practice, and TCM, as well as those involved in interdisciplinary research. 606 $aBiometry 606 $aOptical data processing 606 $aPattern perception 606 $aMedicine, Chinese 606 $aBiomedical engineering 606 $aMedical informatics 606 $aBiometrics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I22040 606 $aImage Processing and Computer Vision$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I22021 606 $aPattern Recognition$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I2203X 606 $aTraditional Chinese Medicine$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H17020 606 $aBiomedical Engineering and Bioengineering$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T2700X 606 $aHealth Informatics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I23060 615 0$aBiometry. 615 0$aOptical data processing. 615 0$aPattern perception. 615 0$aMedicine, Chinese. 615 0$aBiomedical engineering. 615 0$aMedical informatics. 615 14$aBiometrics. 615 24$aImage Processing and Computer Vision. 615 24$aPattern Recognition. 615 24$aTraditional Chinese Medicine. 615 24$aBiomedical Engineering and Bioengineering. 615 24$aHealth Informatics. 676 $a570.15195 700 $aZhang$b David$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0763056 702 $aZhang$b Hongzhi$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aZhang$b Bob$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910254841803321 996 $aTongue Image Analysis$92540323 997 $aUNINA
