If, in the decades following World War II and the Holocaust - years that witnessed European decolonization and the African-American civil rights movement - the concept of 'race' slowly but surely lost its legitimacy as a cultural, political and scientific category, for much of the nineteenth and the first half of the twentieth century concepts of race enjoyed widespread currency in numerous fields of knowledge such as the history of art, history, musicology, or philosophy. Bringing together some of the most distinguished scholars in their respective fields, this is the first collective attempt to address the history of notions of race in the humanities as a whole. 410 0$aPalgrave Critical Studies of Antisemitism and Racism,$x2946-4641 606 $aHistory, Modern 606 $aImperialism 606 $aWorld War, 1939-1945 606 $aEthnology 606 $aModern History 606 $aImperialism and Colonialism 606 $aHistory of World War II and the Holocaust 606 $aEthnography 606 $aSociocultural Anthropology 615 0$aHistory, Modern. 615 0$aImperialism. 615 0$aWorld War, 1939-1945. 615 0$aEthnology. 615 14$aModern History. 615 24$aImperialism and Colonialism. 615 24$aHistory of World War II and the Holocaust. 615 24$aEthnography. 615 24$aSociocultural Anthropology. 676 $a909.08 702 $aMorris-Reich$b Amos$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aRupnow$b Dirk$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910254765003321 996 $aIdeas of 'Race' in the History of the Humanities$91935933 997 $aUNINA LEADER 00792cam 22002533 450 001 9911002091503321 005 20250521184727.0 010 $a978-88-6252-232-8 100 $a20250521d2014----kmuy0itay5050 ba 101 0 $aita 102 $aIT 105 $aa z 001cy 200 1 $a<>donzelletta che nulla temea$epercorsi alternativi nella letteratura italiana tra Sette e Ottocento$fTatiana Crivelli 210 $a[S l.]$cIacobelli editore$d2014 215 $a283 p.$cill.$d21 cm 225 1 $aWorkshop$v17 700 1$aCrivelli,$bTatiana$f<1965-....>$0176193 801 0$aIT$bUNINA$gRICA$2UNIMARC 901 $aBK 912 $a9911002091503321 952 $a850.99287 CRIT 01$b2024/12379$fFLFBC 959 $aFLFBC 996 $aDonzelletta che nulla temea$94379685 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04025nam 2200469 a 450 001 9910969146703321 005 20251116222317.0 010 $a1-4267-3526-X 035 $a(CKB)2560000000054284 035 $a(OCoLC)698589178 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebrary10432024 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3039205 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3039205 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10432024 035 $a(BIP)35540573 035 $a(BIP)13356587 035 $a(EXLCZ)992560000000054284 100 $a20060213d2006 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcn||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aGod's people at prayer $ea year of prayers and responses for worship /$fJohn Killinger 205 $a1st ed. 210 $aNashville $cAbingdon Press$dc2006 215 $a1 online resource (130 p.) 311 08$a0-687-33463-2 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references. 327 $apt. 1. People: We remember their gifts and wonder what we ourselves can give . Leader: We think of our time, our talents, and our money. People: But there must be something special each of us can bring. Leader: Perhaps a life of renewed devotion or a special act for someone who needs us. People: Whisper in my heart, O God, the unique gift that is mine to offer. Leader: Help me focus on that gift and present it now as a promise to you. People: Then help me fulfill that promise in the days ahead and know the joy of serving you. All: For you are the Lord of all life, and we worship you by sharing ourselves in the most creative ways we can imagine. Through Christ our Lord. Amen You will turn to this helpful anthology of original prayers and responses for many worship services throughout the year. The prayers are organized in three sections. Prayers for Holy Days and Seasons includes, for example, Advent, Christmas, Ash Wednesday, and Lent. Prayers for Civic Holidays includes such events as Valentine's Day, Mothers Day, and Fourth of July . Prayers for Special Days in the Church Year includes prayers for baptism, Bible presentation to children, sending out mission teams, stewardship, graduation, and so on. All the prayers may be reproduced for congregational use. Suggested scripture readings for each special day are also provided. Once again, John Killinger has wordsmithed a masterful collection of prayers. I have already incorporated some of these spirit-filled prayers in Wilshire's worship. This particular collection is one of the best of all the collections I have seen. It is a collection all pastors should have at their fingertips. --Rev. Donald B. Colhour, Senior Minister, Wilshire Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Los Angeles, California Killinger's rich pastoral experience in a variety of congregations is evident in these prayers. Reading them opens our eyes to the needs and concerns of all who look to us for spiritual guidance. --Blair Gilmer Meeks, author of Season of Ash and Fire: Prayers and Liturgies for Lent and Easter and Season of Light and Hope: Prayers and Liturgies for Advent and Christmas. John Killinger, who taught Preaching, Worship, and Literature at Vanderbilt Divinity School for fifteen years, has pastored large churches in Virginia and California. He is the author of several books, including Lost in Wonder, Love, and Praise and Enter Every Trembling Heart. 606 $aChurch year$vPrayers and devotions 615 0$aChurch year 676 $a264/.13 700 $aKillinger$b John$01862916 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910969146703321 996 $aGod's people at prayer$94469222 997 $aUNINA
