The mind-body problem cannot be confined to the relation between animal minds and animal bodies. If materialism cannot accommodate consciousness and other mind-related aspects of reality, then we must abandon a purely materialist understanding of nature in general, extending to biology, evolutionary theory, and cosmology. Since minds are features ofbiological systems that have developed through evolution, the standard materialist version of evolutionary biology is fundamentally incomplete. And the cosmological history that led to the origin of life and the coming into existence of the conditions for evolution cannot be a merely materialist history. An adequateconception of nature would have to explain the appearance in the universe of materially irreducible conscious minds, as such. No such explanation is available, and the physical sciences, including molecular biology, cannot be expected to provide one. The book explores these problems through a general treatment of the obstacles to reductionism, with more specific application to the phenomena of consciousness, cognition, and value. The conclusion is that physics cannot be the theory ofeverything. 606 $aCosmology 606 $aCosmogony 606 $aBeginning 606 $aCreation 606 $aScience$xPhilosophy 615 0$aCosmology. 615 0$aCosmogony. 615 0$aBeginning. 615 0$aCreation. 615 0$aScience$xPhilosophy. 676 $a113 700 $aNagel$b Thomas$f1937-$025897 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910814776403321 996 $aMind and cosmos$93918857 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03320nam 22007575 450 001 9910254610603321 005 20230811001333.0 010 $a3-662-48439-0 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-662-48439-5 035 $a(CKB)3710000000532351 035 $a(EBL)4185144 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001597190 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)16298242 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001597190 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)14885801 035 $a(PQKB)10775104 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-662-48439-5 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC4185144 035 $a(PPN)190881313 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000532351 100 $a20151203d2016 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 14$aThe Chang?E-1 Topographic Atlas of the Moon /$fby Chunlai Li, Jianjun Liu, Lingli Mu, Xin Ren, Wei Zuo 205 $a2nd ed. 2016. 210 1$aBerlin, Heidelberg :$cSpringer Berlin Heidelberg :$cImprint: Springer,$d2016. 215 $a1 online resource (245 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a3-662-48437-4 327 $aPart I Introduction of the CCD Stereo Camera -- Part II Global topographic map of the Moon by CD-1 -- Part III Subdivision topographic maps of the Moon.- Appendix ? The spatial resolution of the DEM in this atlas is 500m, with horizontal accuracy of 192m and vertical accuracy of 120m. Color-shaded relief maps with contour lines are used to show the lunar topographical characteristics. The topographical data gathered by CE-1 can provide fundamental information for the study of lunar topographical, morphological and geological structures, as well as for lunar evolution research. 606 $aAstronomy$vObservations 606 $aSolar system 606 $aAerospace engineering 606 $aAstronautics 606 $aPlanetary science 606 $aGeographic information systems 606 $aAstronomy, Observations and Techniques 606 $aSpace Physics 606 $aAerospace Technology and Astronautics 606 $aPlanetary Science 606 $aGeographical Information System 615 0$aAstronomy 615 0$aSolar system. 615 0$aAerospace engineering. 615 0$aAstronautics. 615 0$aPlanetary science. 615 0$aGeographic information systems. 615 14$aAstronomy, Observations and Techniques. 615 24$aSpace Physics. 615 24$aAerospace Technology and Astronautics. 615 24$aPlanetary Science. 615 24$aGeographical Information System. 676 $a530 700 $aLi$b Chunlai$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01065363 702 $aLiu$b Jianjun$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aMu$b Lingli$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aRen$b Xin$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aZuo$b Wei$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910254610603321 996 $aThe Chang?E-1 Topographic Atlas of the Moon$92544839 997 $aUNINA
