The Bible provided a foundation through which South Sudanese could distinguish themselves from Arab and Muslim Sudanese to their north and understand themselves as a spiritual community now freed from their oppressors. Less than three years later, however, new conflicts emerged along ethnic lines, belying the liberation theology that had supposedly reached its climactic conclusion with independence. In Chosen Peoples, Christopher Tounsel investigates the centrality of Christian worldviews to the ideological construction of South Sudan and the inability of shared religion to prevent conflict. From the creation of a colonial-era mission school to halt Islam's spread up the Nile, the centrality of Biblical language in South Sudanese propaganda during the Second Civil War (1983-2005), and post-independence transformations of religious thought in the face of ethnic warfare, Tounsel highlights the potential and limitations of deploying race and Christian theology to unify South Sudan. 517 $aChosen Peoples 606 $aEthnic relations$xPolitical aspects 606 $aChristianity and politics 606 $aPolitical science 606 $aInternational relations 607 $aSouth Sudan 607 $aSudan 615 0$aEthnic relations$xPolitical aspects. 615 0$aChristianity and politics. 615 0$aPolitical science. 615 0$aInternational relations. 676 $a261.709629 700 $aTounsel$b Christopher$01073295 801 0$bNjHacI 801 1$bNjHacl 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910512209103321 996 $aChosen Peoples$92569448 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04398nam 22006855 450 001 9910254314903321 005 20230928150837.0 010 $a3-319-55128-0 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-319-55128-9 035 $a(CKB)4340000000062379 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-319-55128-9 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5591988 035 $a(PPN)201472244 035 $a(EXLCZ)994340000000062379 100 $a20170512d2017 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn#008mamaa 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aAdditive Manufacturing of Metals: The Technology, Materials, Design and Production /$fby Li Yang, Keng Hsu, Brian Baughman, Donald Godfrey, Francisco Medina, Mamballykalathil Menon, Soeren Wiener 205 $a1st ed. 2017. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Springer,$d2017. 215 $a1 online resource (VII, 168 p. 154 illus., 106 illus. in color.) 225 1 $aSpringer Series in Advanced Manufacturing,$x1860-5168 311 $a3-319-55127-2 327 $aIntroduction to Additive Manufacturing -- Additive Manufacturing Process Chain -- Microstructure, Mechanical Properties and Design Considerations for Additive Manufacturing -- Electron Beam Melting -- Design for Additive Manufacturing-Draft -- Additive Manufacturing Quality Inspection -- Additive Manufacturing Supply Chain. 330 $aThis book offers a unique guide to the three-dimensional (3D) printing of metals. It covers various aspects of additive, subtractive, and joining processes used to form three-dimensional parts with applications ranging from prototyping to production. Examining a variety of manufacturing technologies and their ability to produce both prototypes and functional production-quality parts, the individual chapters address metal components and discuss some of the important research challenges associated with the use of these technologies. As well as exploring the latest technologies currently under development, the book features unique sections on electron beam melting technology, material lifting, and the importance this science has in the engineering context. Presenting unique real-life case studies from industry, this book is also the first to offer the perspective of engineers who work in the field of aerospace and transportation systems, and who design components and manufacturing networks. Written by the leading experts in this field at universities and in industry, it provides a comprehensive textbook for students and an invaluable guide for practitioners. 410 0$aSpringer Series in Advanced Manufacturing,$x1860-5168 606 $aManufactures 606 $aMetals 606 $aEngineering design 606 $aIndustrial organization 606 $aManufacturing, Machines, Tools, Processes$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T22050 606 $aMetallic Materials$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Z16000 606 $aEngineering Design$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T17020 606 $aIndustrial Organization$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W31010 615 0$aManufactures. 615 0$aMetals. 615 0$aEngineering design. 615 0$aIndustrial organization. 615 14$aManufacturing, Machines, Tools, Processes. 615 24$aMetallic Materials. 615 24$aEngineering Design. 615 24$aIndustrial Organization. 676 $a621.988 700 $aYang$b Li$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0731601 702 $aHsu$b Keng$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aBaughman$b Brian$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aGodfrey$b Donald$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aMedina$b Francisco$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aMenon$b Mamballykalathil$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aWiener$b Soeren$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910254314903321 996 $aAdditive Manufacturing of Metals: The Technology, Materials, Design and Production$91979651 997 $aUNINA
