The focus of the symposium was on statistical and machine learning methodologies specifically developed for inference in ?big data? situations, with particular reference to genomic applications. The contributors, who are among the most prominent researchers on the theory of statistics for high dimensional inference, present new theories and methods, as well as challenging applications and computational solutions. Specific themes include, among others, variable selection and screening, penalised regression, sparsity, thresholding, low dimensional structures, computational challenges, non-convex situations, learning graphical models, sparse covariance and precision matrices, semi- and non-parametric formulations, multiple testing, classification, factor models, clustering, and preselection. Highlighting cutting-edge research and casting light on future research directions, the contributions will benefit graduate students and researchers in computational biology, statistics and the machine learning community. 410 0$aAbel Symposia,$x2197-8549 ;$v11 606 $aMathematics$xData processing 606 $aStatistics 606 $aBioinformatics 606 $aMathematical statistics$xData processing 606 $aBiometry 606 $aStatistics 606 $aComputational Mathematics and Numerical Analysis 606 $aStatistical Theory and Methods 606 $aBioinformatics 606 $aStatistics and Computing 606 $aBiostatistics 606 $aStatistics in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry and Earth Sciences 615 0$aMathematics$xData processing. 615 0$aStatistics. 615 0$aBioinformatics. 615 0$aMathematical statistics$xData processing. 615 0$aBiometry. 615 0$aStatistics. 615 14$aComputational Mathematics and Numerical Analysis. 615 24$aStatistical Theory and Methods. 615 24$aBioinformatics. 615 24$aStatistics and Computing. 615 24$aBiostatistics. 615 24$aStatistics in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry and Earth Sciences. 676 $a510 702 $aFrigessi$b Arnoldo$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aBühlmann$b Peter$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aGlad$b Ingrid$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aLangaas$b Mette$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aRichardson$b Sylvia$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aVannucci$b Marina$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910254081103321 996 $aStatistical analysis for high-dimensional data$91523641 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04130nam 22006372 450 001 9910490030203321 005 20251019235708.0 010 $a9789004463684 010 $a9004463682 024 7 $a10.1163/9789004463684 035 $a(CKB)5490000000082055 035 $a(NjHacI)995490000000082055 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/71047 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC31216954 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL31216954 035 $a(nllekb)BRILL9789004463684 035 $a(oapen)doab71047 035 $a(EXLCZ)995490000000082055 100 $a20210531d2021 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 14$aThe Diachrony of Definiteness in North Germanic /$fDominika Skrzypek, Alicja Piotrowska, Rafa? These three North Germanic languages show different development patterns in the rise of articles, despite the common origin, but each reveals interdependencies between the two processes. The matter is approached from both a quantitative and a qualitative perspective. The statistical analysis provides an improved overview on article grammaticalization, focusing on the factors at the basis of such process. The in-depth qualitative analysis of longer text passages places the crucial stage of the definite article grammaticalization with the so-called indirect anaphoric reference"--$cProvided by publisher. 410 0$aBrill's studies in historical linguistics ;$vVolume 14. 606 $aDanish language$xArticle 606 $aHistorical linguistics$zScandinavia 606 $aIcelandic language$xArticle 606 $aScandinavian languages$xArticle 606 $aSwedish language$xArticle 615 0$aDanish language$xArticle. 615 0$aHistorical linguistics 615 0$aIcelandic language$xArticle. 615 0$aScandinavian languages$xArticle. 615 0$aSwedish language$xArticle. 676 $a439/.5 700 $aSkrzypek$b Dominika$01260331 702 $aJaworski$b Rafa? 702 $aPiotrowska$b Alicja 801 0$bNL-LeKB 801 1$bNL-LeKB 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910490030203321 996 $aThe diachrony of definiteness in north Germanic$92920647 997 $aUNINA
