Cohen shows that the dynamics of the expanded conformations is likely to be very fast, suggesting a spring-like motion of the whole chain. The findings shed new light on the elasticity of structure in repeat proteins, which is related to their function in binding multiple and disparate partners. This concise research summary provides useful insights for students beginning a PhD in this or a related area, and researchers entering this field. 410 0$aSpringer Theses, Recognizing Outstanding Ph.D. Research,$x2190-5053 606 $aBioorganic chemistry 606 $aSpectroscopy 606 $aBiophysics 606 $aBiological physics 606 $aBioorganic Chemistry$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/C19010 606 $aSpectroscopy/Spectrometry$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/C11020 606 $aBiological and Medical Physics, Biophysics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P27008 615 0$aBioorganic chemistry. 615 0$aSpectroscopy. 615 0$aBiophysics. 615 0$aBiological physics. 615 14$aBioorganic Chemistry. 615 24$aSpectroscopy/Spectrometry. 615 24$aBiological and Medical Physics, Biophysics. 676 $a543.56 700 $aCohen$b Sharona$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01061392 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910254058003321 996 $aSingle-Molecule Fluorescence Spectroscopy of the Folding of a Repeat Protein$92518692 997 $aUNINA
