The author considers geometrical structure, thermodynamic stability and electronic properties which are compared with experimental data. Special attention is paid to the dependence of total spin magnetic moments of iron clusters on their size, charge and interactions with dopant and absorbed atoms. In the dopant case, species such as 3d-metal, 4d-metal, Al, and Gd atoms are considered. In the adsorption case interactions of carbon atoms with iron clusters as the initial stage of catalyzed carbon nanotube growth are presented. Interactions of iron clusters with oxygen atoms are presented and the superexchange mechanism is discussed. Of special interest is the tracking of changes due to the evolution from a few atoms to a nanocluster. 410 0$aSpringerBriefs in Electrical and Magnetic Properties of Atoms, Molecules, and Clusters,$x2730-7751 606 $aPhysical chemistry 606 $aNanotechnology 606 $aChemistry, Physical and theoretical 606 $aChemical engineering 606 $aPhysical Chemistry$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/C21001 606 $aNanotechnology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Z14000 606 $aTheoretical and Computational Chemistry$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/C25007 606 $aIndustrial Chemistry/Chemical Engineering$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/C27000 615 0$aPhysical chemistry. 615 0$aNanotechnology. 615 0$aChemistry, Physical and theoretical. 615 0$aChemical engineering. 615 14$aPhysical Chemistry. 615 24$aNanotechnology. 615 24$aTheoretical and Computational Chemistry. 615 24$aIndustrial Chemistry/Chemical Engineering. 676 $a553.3 700 $aGutsev$b Gennady L$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01061401 702 $aBelay$b Kalayu G$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aGutsev$b Lavrenty G$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aWeatherford$b Charles A$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910254048803321 996 $aModification of Magnetic Properties of Iron Clusters by Doping and Adsorption$92518736 997 $aUNINA
