Economic considerations will be presented to compare the cost of the proposed systems for different scenarios such as carbon-tax rates, diesel fuel cost, and ammonia cost. Fossil fuel consumption and the associated negative environmental impact of their combustion is a significant global concern that requires effective, practical, and sustainable solutions. From a Canadian perspective, the Transportation Sector contributes more than 25% of national greenhouse gas emissions due to fossil fuel combustion, largely due to road vehicles (cars, light and heavy duty trucks). This is a complex and critical challenge to address, particularly in urban areas with high population density. There is a need to develop alternative energy solutions for mass passenger and freight transportation systems that will reduce both the traffic-volume of road vehicles as well as the emissions from the mass transportation systems. The book will be helpful to students in senior-level undergraduate and graduate level courses related to energy, thermodynamics, thermal sciences, combustion, HVAC&R, etc. The quantitative comparative assessment of such alternative energy systems provided by this book will be useful for researchers and professionals interested sustainable development. 410 0$aGreen Energy and Technology,$x1865-3529 606 $aTransportation 606 $aEngines 606 $aMachinery 606 $aSustainable development 606 $aEnergy policy 606 $aEnergy policy 606 $aTransportation$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/119000 606 $aEngine Technology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T17048 606 $aSustainable Development$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/U34000 606 $aEnergy Policy, Economics and Management$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/112000 615 0$aTransportation. 615 0$aEngines. 615 0$aMachinery. 615 0$aSustainable development. 615 0$aEnergy policy. 615 0$aEnergy policy. 615 14$aTransportation. 615 24$aEngine Technology. 615 24$aSustainable Development. 615 24$aEnergy Policy, Economics and Management. 676 $a385.0973 700 $aDincer$b Ibrahim$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0421460 702 $aHogerwaard$b Janette$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aZamfirescu$b Calin$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910253985403321 996 $aClean Rail Transportation Options$92177672 997 $aUNINA
