Levinas' exploration of the ethical serves as point of entry and is shown to be seeking inter-cultural political relevance through engagement with the issues of postcoloniality and humanism. Yet, Levinas fails to realise the ethical implications of the inevitable instrumental mediation between ethical meaning and political practice. With recourse to Weber, Apel and Ricoeur, Ernst Wolff proposes a theory of strategic co-responsibility for the uncertain global context of practice. 330 1 $aReviewed in: PW-Portal, 11 (2011), Bjo?rn Wagner Ethical Theory and Moral Practice, 15/5 (2012), Eva Buddeberg Cahiers d'Etudes Le?vinassiennes, 12 (2013), Jack Marsh Tijdschrift voor Filosofie,76/1 (2014), Martine Berenpas 410 0$aBeing human (Bielefeld, Germany) ;$vv. 11. 606 $aGlobalization$xMoral and ethical aspects 610 $aEthics. 610 $aGlobalisation. 610 $aGlobalization. 610 $aHuman. 610 $aHumanism. 610 $aLevinas. 610 $aPhilosophy of Culture. 610 $aPhilosophy. 610 $aPolitical Philosophy. 610 $aPolitics. 615 0$aGlobalization$xMoral and ethical aspects. 676 $a303.482 700 $aWolff$b Ernst$0228753 712 02$aKnowledge Unlatched - KU Select 2016: Backlist Collection$4fnd$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/fnd 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910213857403321 996 $aPolitical Responsibility for a Globalised World$91962632 997 $aUNINA
