The focus is on furthering our knowledge of the non-Greek languages/scripts, as well as appreciating their place in relation to the much better understood Greek language on the island. Following on from recent advances in Cypro-Minoan studies, these difficult, mostly Late Bronze Age inscriptions are reassessed from first principles. The same approach is taken for non-Greek languages written in the Cypriot Syllabic script during the first millennium BC, chiefly the one usually referred to as Eteocypriot. The final section is then dedicated to the Phoenician language, which was in use on Cyprus for some hundreds of years. The result is a careful reappraisal of these languages/scripts after more than a century of sometimes controversial scholarship. 410 0$aCambridge classical studies. 606 $aInscriptions, Cypro-Minoan 606 $aPhoenician language$zCyprus 606 $aInscriptions, Phoenician$zCyprus 607 $aCyprus$xLanguages 615 0$aInscriptions, Cypro-Minoan. 615 0$aPhoenician language 615 0$aInscriptions, Phoenician 676 $a492/.6 700 $aSteele$b Philippa M.$f1983-$01057074 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910464878503321 996 $aA linguistic history of ancient Cyprus$92491956 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02126nas 2200625-a 450 001 9910172110303321 005 20250305190031.0 035 $a(DE-599)ZDB2092119-6 035 $a(CKB)111006469467364 035 $a(CONSER)--2001215210 035 $a(MiFhGG)0KJI 035 $a(MiFhGG)72LE 035 $a(EXLCZ)99111006469467364 100 $a20010823b20012020 --- a 101 0 $aeng 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aAutomotive design & production 210 $aCincinnati, OH $cGardner Publications, Inc.$d2001- 215 $a1 online resource 311 08$aPrint version: Automotive design & production. 1536-8823 (DLC) 2001215210 (OCoLC)47835781 517 3 $aAutomotive design and production 517 1 $aAD & P 517 1 $aField guide to the automotive revolution 531 0 $aAUTOMOTIVE DESIGN AND PRODUCTION 531 0 $aAutomot. des. prod. 606 $aMachine-tools$vPeriodicals 606 $aMachine shops$vPeriodicals 606 $aProduction engineering$vPeriodicals 606 $aProduction management$vPeriodicals 606 $aAutomobile industry and trade$vPeriodicals 606 $aAutomobile industry and trade$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst00822961 606 $aMachine shops$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst01004830 606 $aMachine-tools$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst01004896 606 $aProduction engineering$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst01078282 606 $aProduction management$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst01078309 608 $aPeriodicals.$2fast 608 $aPeriodicals.$2lcgft 615 0$aMachine-tools 615 0$aMachine shops 615 0$aProduction engineering 615 0$aProduction management 615 0$aAutomobile industry and trade 615 7$aAutomobile industry and trade. 615 7$aMachine shops. 615 7$aMachine-tools. 615 7$aProduction engineering. 615 7$aProduction management. 676 $a629.2/34/05 906 $aJOURNAL 912 $a9910172110303321 920 $aexl_impl conversion 996 $aAutomotive design & production$92125919 997 $aUNINA
