It analyzes patterns of indigenous disadvantage worldwide and explores some difficult questions, including the right balance between autonomy and participation. 410 0$aCROP international studies in poverty research. 606 $aIndigenous peoples$xEconomic conditions 606 $aPoverty 606 $aPoverty & unemployment$2bicssc 606 $aDevelopment studies$2bicssc 606 $aIndigenous peoples$2bicssc 615 0$aIndigenous peoples$xEconomic conditions. 615 0$aPoverty. 615 7$aPoverty & unemployment 615 7$aDevelopment studies 615 7$aIndigenous peoples 676 $a362.5089 702 $aEversole$b Robyn 702 $aMcNeish$b John-Andrew 702 $aCimadamore$b Alberto D. 801 0$bN 801 1$bCaBNVSL 801 2$bCaBNVSL 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910170977603321 996 $aIndigenous peoples and poverty$92296761 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04508 am 22006253u 450 001 996309143403316 005 20231110230401.0 010 $a3-11-063508-9 010 $a3-11-063906-8 024 7 $a10.1515/9783110639063 035 $a(CKB)4100000008166095 035 $a(OAPEN)1005054 035 $a(DE-B1597)507361 035 $a(OCoLC)1100431858 035 $a(DE-B1597)9783110639063 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6637395 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL6637395 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/26608 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000008166095 100 $a20200406h20192019 fg 101 0 $aeng 135 $auuuuu---auuuu 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aCreating Standards $eInteractions with Arabic script in 12 manuscript cultures /$fDmitry Bondarev, Alessandro Gori, Lameen Souag 210 $aBerlin/Boston$cDe Gruyter$d2019 210 1$aBerlin ;$aBoston :$cDe Gruyter,$d[2019] 210 4$d©2019 215 $a1 online resource (326) 225 0 $aStudies in Manuscript Cultures ;$v16 311 $a3-11-063498-8 327 $tFrontmatter --$tContents --$tPreface --$tTransliteration of Arabic and some Arabic-based Script Graphemes used in this Volume (including Persian and Malay) --$tIntroduction: Orthographic Polyphony in Arabic Script --$tPersian Language in Arabic Script: The Formation of the Orthographic Standard and the Different Graphic Traditions of Iran in the First Centuries of the Islamic Era --$tWriting Judaeo-Arabic --$tCross Palaeographic Traditions. Unlike previous studies, this book steps outside disciplinary and regional boundaries and provides a typological cross-cultural comparison of standardisation processes in twelve Arabic-influenced writing traditions where different cultures, languages and scripts interact. A wide range of case studies give insights into the factors behind uniformity and variation in Judeo-Arabic in Hebrew script, South Palestinian Christian Arabic, New Persian, Aljamiado of the Spanish Moriscos, Ottoman Turkish, a single multilingual Ottoman manuscript, Sino-Arabic in northwest China, Malay Jawi in the Moluccas, Kanuri and Hausa in Nigeria, Kabyle in Algeria, and Ethiopian Fidäl script as used to transliterate Arabic. One of the findings of this volume is that different domains of manuscript cultures have distinct paths of standardisation, so that orthography tends to develop its own standardisation principles irrespective of norms applied to layout and script types. This book will appeal to readers interested in manuscript studies, sociolinguistics, literacy studies, and history of writing. 410 0$aStudies in Manuscript Cultures 606 $aLanguage$2bicssc 606 $aLiterature & literary studies$2bicssc 610 $aAljamiado. 610 $aArabo-Persian. 610 $aChristian Arabic. 610 $aJudaeo-Arabic. 610 $aSino-Arabic. 615 7$aLanguage 615 7$aLiterature & literary studies 676 $a492.7 700 $aBondarev$b Dmitry$4edt$01433590 702 $aBondarev$b Dmitry$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aGori$b Alessandro$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aSouag$b Lameen$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 801 0$bDE-B1597 801 1$bDE-B1597 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996309143403316 996 $aCreating Standards$93582308 997 $aUNISA
