La característica esencial de los intelectuales colombianos hasta la década del sesenta fue su subordinación a los partidos tradicionales. Su relación con la cultura, con la política y con el Estado respondió a las necesidades de los proyectos políticos, liberal o conservador, y se inscribió en las posibilidades que estos partidos ofrecían. A comienzos de los años sesenta se inició la ruptura de los mismos con los partidos tradicionales y con las funciones que estos les asignaron, lo que permitió la constitución de un campo cultural plenamente autónomo. Desde este momento, y durante dos décadas, los intelectuales vivieron su edad dorada. A partir de los ochenta se forjó una lenta, y casi imperceptible, nueva relación con el Estado y, por supuesto, con la sociedad. El resultado, muy palpable a mediados de la década, no fue otro que el de la reincorporación de los intelectuales a la tutela del bipartidismo y el Estado. El péndulo giró nuevamente a la derecha... 606 $aIntellectuals$xPolitical activity$zColombia 606 $aIntellectuals$zColombia$xAttitudes 607 $aColombia$xIntellectual life$y20th century 607 $aColombia$xPolitics and government$y20th century 610 $aactividad política 610 $ahistoria 610 $aintelectuales 610 $apartidos políticos 615 0$aIntellectuals$xPolitical activity 615 0$aIntellectuals$xAttitudes. 700 $aUrrego Ardila$b Miguel Ángel$01289043 801 0$bFR-FrMaCLE 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910169183803321 996 $aIntelectuales, Estado y Nación en Colombia$93036482 997 $aUNINA LEADER 06869nam 2201489Ia 450 001 9910786369003321 005 20211102005057.0 010 $a1-283-68356-3 010 $a1-4008-4543-2 024 7 $a10.1515/9781400845439 035 $a(CKB)2670000000275643 035 $a(EBL)1042913 035 $a(OCoLC)845246868 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000760105 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11480706 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000760105 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10801547 035 $a(PQKB)10043976 035 $a(StDuBDS)EDZ0000407004 035 $a(OCoLC)895758102 035 $a(MdBmJHUP)muse37188 035 $a(DE-B1597)447652 035 $a(OCoLC)979905330 035 $a(DE-B1597)9781400845439 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL1042913 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10613127 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL399606 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1042913 035 $a(PPN)187960593 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000275643 100 $a20120227d2012 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aWhy Australia prospered$b[electronic resource] $ethe shifting sources of economic growth /$fIan W. Why Australia Prospered is a fascinating historical examination of how Australia cultivated and sustained economic growth and success. Beginning with the Aboriginal economy at the end of the eighteenth century, Ian McLean argues that Australia's remarkable prosperity across nearly two centuries was reached and maintained by several shifting factors. These included imperial policies, favorable demographic characteristics, natural resource abundance, institutional adaptability and innovation, and growth-enhancing policy responses to major economic shocks, such as war, depression, and resource discoveries. Natural resource abundance in Australia played a prominent role in some periods and faded during others, but overall, and contrary to the conventional view of economists, it was a blessing rather than a curse. McLean shows that Australia's location was not a hindrance when the international economy was centered in the North Atlantic, and became a positive influence following Asia's modernization. Participation in the world trading system, when it flourished, brought significant benefits, and during the interwar period when it did not, Australia's protection of domestic manufacturing did not significantly stall growth. McLean also considers how the country's notorious origins as a convict settlement positively influenced early productivity levels, and how British imperial policies enhanced prosperity during the colonial period. He looks at Australia's recent resource-based prosperity in historical perspective, and reveals striking elements of continuity that have underpinned the evolution of the country's economy since the nineteenth century. 410 4$aThe Princeton Economic History of the Western World 606 $aEconomic development$zAustralia 606 $aEconomics 607 $aAustralia$xEconomic policy$y21st century 610 $aAboriginal economy. 610 $aAboriginals. 610 $aAsian industrialization. 610 $aAustralia. 610 $aAustralian colonies. 610 $aAustralian economy. 610 $aAustralian history. 610 $aBritain. 610 $aBritish government. 610 $aChina. 610 $aEuropean settlement. 610 $aEuropean settlers. 610 $aFirst World War. 610 $aGDP. 610 $aIndia. 610 $aKorean War. 610 $aSecond World War. 610 $aagriculture. 610 $aancient lineage. 610 $acapital flows. 610 $acivilian consumption. 610 $adomestic manufacturing. 610 $adomestic savings. 610 $adrought. 610 $aeconomic fortunes. 610 $aeconomic growth. 610 $aeconomic miracles. 610 $aeconomic prosperity. 610 $aenergy sources. 610 $afarming. 610 $afinancial outlays. 610 $aforeign investment. 610 $afree immigrants. 610 $agold rushes. 610 $agrowth economics. 610 $aimport process. 610 $aincome level. 610 $aindustrialization. 610 $ainstitutional innovation. 610 $ainternational economic order. 610 $alabor force. 610 $aliving standards. 610 $amanufacturing. 610 $amarket-oriented approach. 610 $amineral production. 610 $amining. 610 $amodernization. 610 $anational prosperity. 610 $apastoral development. 610 $aper capita income. 610 $apolicy reforms. 610 $apolitical institutions. 610 $apoor countries. 610 $apostwar economic environment. 610 $apoverty. 610 $aproductivity. 610 $aprosperity. 610 $arich economies. 610 $arich economy. 610 $ashifting basis. 610 $awar outbreak. 610 $awool boom. 610 $awool industry. 610 $aworld depression. 610 $aworld energy. 610 $aworld trading system. 615 0$aEconomic development 615 0$aEconomics. 676 $a338.994 700 $aMcLean$b Ian W$0509035 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910786369003321 996 $aWhy Australia prospered$93785899 997 $aUNINA
